Sami - DH isn't really concerned about being an older dad with a baby. His eldest 2 are 17 and almost 15. They live with their mum and come once a week, the 15yo comes twice. We're expecting the frequency to drop as they get older/go out with friends/boyfriends etc. They've already offered babysitting services for Caitlyn! As for energy, I think he's got more than me! His job is fairly active, and he's quite young at heart. Blimey I'm making him sound like a pensioner already!

I suppose the weird bit is that my mum was his age (46) when I had Josh! But because we're husband/wife I don;t really see his age in that way? Hard to explain! I always class him as the generation below my mum and dad, even though he's only 8 years younger than my mum.

sami ... i was born '85 ... philip '83 so only 2 years ... 17 years between my sis and BIL .. i like creeping her out by saying theres the same age gap between them as there is between me and zoe x

I think the average age gap is supposed to be around four years.

My OH is 42, I'd say he left it too late, to stuck in his ways! I've found the opposite, I'm a much better Mummy now, much more laid back and knowing she's my last everything else can wait!

tara i say its never to late to change your ways it just if they want to or not x

Ive never tried medised to help the littel ones sleep will have to get some and see if it helps on occasion. Doctors used to give me something called Phenergan its a sedative/ travel sickness medicine they used to prescribe it whenever they were ill so they would sleep better not sure if you can use it on young babaies though :-)

I had Phenergan for a few days when I was pregnant (for the sickness) and it made me sleep nearly all the time.
