I Freegle'd for the first time this weekend, the cheapy buggy we got and then forgot the first time we went skiing and the highchair we were given that we used at mums (mfd you'll be glad to know the giver didn't want it back because they got an antilop instead and we weren't keeping it because we've got an antilop instead :cool:)

And me please. I've woke up with a cloudy head and blocked nose.

V had no after effects from yesterdays jab and slept all night.

I don't think they examined me until just before they admitted me which was 1hr 40 after I arrived. I was having 1m30 contractions every 2 minutes before I went to hospital but by the time they'd faffed about taking ages to deal with me when I got there they went down to every ten minutes. I was a bit miffed that they just dissappeared for ages and didn't bother doing anything but I guess I should be thankful that at least they didn't completely forget about me.

That's roughly how I feel. I went in expecting a certain level of care which I just didn't get. If I'd known beforehand it would have been like that I could have been much better prepared. The quality of care that Weezl and Sami described as having in their homebirths is pretty much the standard I had expected.

I must have been up & down about 8 times between 2am & 6am!

Just feeding J then got some more housework to do before RL Mummy friends come over

plus I think at a hospital things sometimes need to be even 'nicer' to offset the scary and unfamiliar hospitallyness. Having spent sat sun and mon in one, it's just so obvious to me that the smell of dettol, other people in pain/distress, complicated looking systems run by people with different coloured clothes on according to rank and role, but inexplicable to the general public. Weird decor mostly peeling, uncomfy beds, one small flat pillow... All tiny things but just not 'right'. That way if a MW is a bit dismissive, you can't roll with it in the same way. And because it's not your space, you can't 'mind'.

For us it was, our house, our rules. Our smells familiar things, food, equipment. Just so, so different.

I hope that makes some sense!

elle-gee- make sure you make time just to have a bit of a sit down and a cuppa while you are baby free!

Ladybird- Me and DD have woken up all bunged up with a sore throat too- rubbish! If someone has a cure send it this way too

I wanted a HB with DD, but unfortunately didn't turn out that way after a very long labour, this time round I am planning a homebirth again, but plan on ringing the MW at the last minute as last time I felt I rung them before I felt I needed them, purely as I was thinking I should give them notice so they could arrange to come out to me, I will be much more selfish this time

Hiya ladies havent been on here for a while always seem to get lost on this thread as it moves so quickly but thought i would have another go :-)

Cold cure: not sure if its a cure but it always seems to help me warm lemonade i dont know how it works but alot of people in the black country swear by it and it deffinately seems to do something to help :-)

Glam if you figure out how to keep him asleep let me know joey is the same wakes at least 3 times a night. I've been thinking of putting him in his brother room see if the change of scenery helps at all :-)

He's been in his own room over a week & that didnt help!
6 weeks of waking now after a blissful 6 weeks of sleeping through!
