Fattybooboo, I think it was Sami who suggested looking up Fritha's posts :) Glad it's improving :D

MFD, no direct use to you, but just thought I'd mention one of the girls I'm doing peer supporter training with wants to discuss stopping BFing once we get to that stage in the training (we're doing problem solving in a few weeks, missing next week as it's half term). She's BF all of her four sons, two stopped naturally, one went on to formula at about 7mths (not sure why) and the youngest she had to help him wean off because of going onto new medication. Are there any peer supporters at your Booby Club who might have experience who you can ask? :)

I'm lurking so thought I better say hi!

Leila is currently beating up her daddy on the floor.

She learnt to blow kisses today and if you tell her to do 'sleepy face' she puts her chin right down and looks up with her eyes at you, batting her eye lashes.

Hope you are all well. Sorry i'm not around much these days but Leila doesnt keep still anymore, so theres no more sitting here with my laptop whilst she plays!! OH has gone to shave, so Leila is now rearranging the bottom shelf of the book case. Better go xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Glam, sometimes there are mentioned of old carpets for allotments on our freecycle. Not sure how or what for they're used, but might be worth a shot.. Just say on freecycle that they aren't suitable for home use :)
  • Thanks Elle, your right it was Sami. I seem to be even worse with remebering mse names now that Im friends with lots of mse-ers on facebook too, lol im easily confused. And yes thanks Glam for reminding me, Frithas posts were excellent :)

MFD my advise for stopping breastfeeding is that you need to be strong! i could not stop lewis and he would scream blue murder, in the end my sister told me to go away for the weekend and she looked after him, he no choice but to take his milk from a cup/bottle. The others were all easy enough to stop feeding but had been using bottles and cups so it wasnt as big a deal, a doctor can give you something to help dry up your milk but you MUST not breast feed after taking it?
anyone want a 2 year old?? im sure he has 666 tatooed somewhere?
What's for you won't go past you

MFD - it's hard, I still find it hard not to be feeding Katie before bed it's been about 2/3 weeks now and it wasn't even my choice it was hers!

I'm with the camp of not asking not offering.

I am a bit confuzzled about how to deal with it if/when she does ask.

Choppy - thanks hun - he certainly is very cute ATM (he always has been but the talking is uber-cute!!) which kind of gets me thinking to how old he is and how (no offence MDW) I don't want to be feeding a toddler and how I would be upset if I waited for him to self wean (like I was being rejected :o).

Because we only feed morning and night, when he wants it I am unsure about how I keep out of those situations (morning and evening cuddles) and do I explain to him what is happening etc - he does seem to understand loads these days but obviously not complex things...he may understand 'no booby' or something though...

He will take a bottle from me, even if I am naked (TMI sorry) so I don't think he will be distraught...it is just how to tackle it. He likes a bottle and THEN a BF!!!

Elle - if you could bear me in mind if I haven't sorted it by the time you get to that part of your course I would be grateful xx

Edit - thanks for the info on the tablets Caz - might be an option if I try and fail to stop a couple of times...knowing that it is unsafe to BF would certainly strengthen my resolve but I will see how I go when I finally bite the bullet!!!
