Without wishing to start a debate on early weaning, why is 17 weeks the generally accepted cut-off point for introducing solids? Is it to do with baby's digestive system being mature enough? I know the six months thing comes from the WHO.
Not planning on starting Henry just yet, just wondering really as we are being bombarded with weaning literature from baby food companies at the moment.

How are you feeling today PinkPig?
Well he went out, I took him and his mate into town. We had to wait outside his mates house for a couple of minutes which started Caitlyn off crying, she's usually fine if the car's moving but hates it when we stop. Anyway, I thought she'd calm down once we set off but noooo. She cried and sobbed all the way there. I had told DH that I was going out, he asked where and I said I didn't know (petty, moi?). Dropped him off, he gave me a kiss but I was a bit off so he asked what was up. I sort of shouted 'nothing! I want to get off and get home so she's not crying! Bye.' I was annoyed because I wanted to go off out somewhere without telling him where I was (am I weird?), but had to go home instead to settle C. It occured to me while he was out that he had come in from work, I had cut his hair, swept up, put the rug back while he had a bath, then he got changed and went out. I'd got a pile of clean washing on the stairs that he could have taken up, a bowl full of pots he could have washed, but I ended up doing it all when I got back. I'm so angry. I have J and C all day adn MY job doesn't stop just because it's the evening. But he should be able to go out because he works all the time. I understand that, but when do I get my break? C will not stay with anyone else, so I don't get that chance.
Sorry I'm ranting again, haven't caught up properly but :T for being able to help change Poppies' nappy tara!!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

A fb friend (RL, not on here) has a little one a couple of weeks older than H and she has started her on baby rice so it got me thinking.

My advice would be hold off the hassle for as long as possible0 -
pinkpig (08, seeing as we have 2 of you
! ) You have my sympthy. Mine HAS to go to the pub every saturday afternoon. If he doesn't get to stick to his routine then he is like toddler. Even when Izzy is 2 her tantrums won't be as bad as his I'm sure
It is frustrating, but remember it won't be forever that you have to be there - there will be a point where you can get her to bed then leave him in charge for the evening, or get someoen to babysit, and go out together (without his friends!!!) We have just reached that point - I can't get away with getting someone else to put her to bed (well, we did once for a wedding, but that was a one off), but the in-laws kept offering to babysit, so we took them up on the offer last week, and went out for a meal. It is probably time for a Mums night out too, but my best mummy friend is pregnant again, and probaby wouldn' want to comeIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009
