  • apart from a few pounds :D :rotfl: ..

is it just me but do churches scare you? i mean the actual building .. i love the art side of them and some of the stain glass windows are amazing (love arty things me) but the actual building creeps me out .. when i was little i didnt even like riding my bike past the one near my nans x
SM - I'm very fussy about my churches, I not at all keen on the modern ones, but love the old ones. I'm sooooo lucky the church I attend is beautiful inside and out and old.
My church is a modern one (ish... Build in 1979/80) and definitely wouldn't creep you out SM I couldn't believe I'd ever get married in a church that looked like a community centre, but after going there for 5 years, I couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else... I think the people make the church more than the building. :)
My cot mobile I ordered came today from eBay, think it's more one to stimulate him and he was well mesmirized by it, yay!!
My Aunt gave me a mobile for Caitlyn... It only went on the cot once, she was all sleepy when I lay her down and as soon as she saw it she got all excited and started thrashing around, then sat up and grabbed it... I took it out then and haven't bothered putting it back!

Tara, I did say on facebook but I'm really please for you and DD and DGD!!

Caz, hope Charlie starts to feel better and you get some sleep tonight hun xx
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Krystal - the church I attended as a child was a modern one (60/70's) and I found it a bit souless IYKWIM! The people were ok it but the children weren't really involved in the services.

But when I visited the parish church and old church it just felt a bit friendlier.

I hope you understand what I mean, I can't find the words.

right i got things to do tomorrow to get ready for london on saturday .. nighty night you lovely lot xxxx
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • No, I know what you mean... Funnily enough, my childhood church was a big gothic building and boring as anything when we were children... My current modern one is fantastic, there's regular youth services and they do special activities for the children based around themes such as the wizard of oz or narnia... Aimee loves her children's church :D

  • Krystal - maybe that's it Church was boring when we were children as they never did services/included children whereas now the children are involved.

At our church Children are allowed to take Communion, ours do a youth service if there is a 5th Sunday in the month which is followed by a cake and lemonade soda sale - Katie loves this one as she gets a flag to wave!

  • It could just be a generaltional shift couldn't it... I love when the children get involved in the service... Although half the time I'm biting back tears... I'm so emotional now lol!!

  • I didn't get chance to get emotional at Katie being a star in the Nativity this year, I was too busy trying to control the rest of them!
