Feel better soon Jillie
you've reminded me, GISI did anyone answer your elective c/s question? it is my experience that any woman who has had a previous section (regardless of reason why) will be 'allowed' to have another c/s but I think it would be up to your consultant that you would only get allocated once pg and booked in with the MWs.
I've already forgotten why you had a section but I think it was because bubba was in distress? if so I think it's a pretty random thing that may or may not happen with baby #2 If you would like any info on VBACs or post c/s support let me know and I'll try to digg out the links from the Rad Mid group x0 -
SS- should have got the tissues first

I must have missed this question! Yes I think you are given the option.
After I had a Em.C/S with DS, I was given the option of a planned C/S with DD1.
My first C/S was only because he was frank breech and got into distress There was no reason it would happen again, it was just one of those things that could happen to anyone. So I decided to try for a VBAC.
When I was pregnant with DD1, the hospital/midwives seemed to care a lot more, and I had several extra tests/scans to make sure she was the right way round etc towards the end.
As it worked out, i'd had an extra scan at 38 weeks, the day before I went into labour, so I felt quite confident that it'd be ok as i'd seen for myself she was head down and ready to go.
Now, trying for the VBAC was the best thing I ever did - the recovery time after the birth was so much quicker.:beer:0 -
GISI did anyone answer your elective c/s question?
GISI, I had no problem with requesting an elective c/s with Alex. I was automatically under consultant led care, because i had a previous section. I asked about an elective at all my consultant appintments, was given leaflets to read and was told that i was to make my final decision at the 36 week appointment. Which i did, there was no if, buts or maybes from them, I signed the concent form there and then and they rang maternity straight away and i came away with my appointment to go in for the elective. One week prior to my due date. Even when i went into spontaneous labour 10 days before the given section date, i rang the labour ward, was told to come straight in. Was examined, and given the choice again VBAC or Section. I chose the section. No one tried to put me off, and it was far and away, a much better experience that the emergency section with DS1. Very relaxed and chilled. With Abba on the CD player. When the time comes for it, don't be afraid to ask for the elective if that is what you want.0 -
Hello
Sugar that link made me all weepyI was young when I had Joshua and can remember the slights of most of the nurses, but the midwife who looked after us on the ward was amazing - Then all these years later she delivered Lexi!
My madam hasnt stopped with the crying this morning, we have quite a few teeth poking through so I think it is that. I could do with a bit of sleep though I didnt get a straight hour all night!
Also I dont know if you will see but just wanted to say hope your back soon Susan, will miss you and your tales of what Alice has been up to! Take care x

Thanks Sami- no-one did answer!
It wasn't because H was in distress, but because I contracted for 44 hours but never dilated beyond 2 cm. No-one has been able to give me any reason why it happened but H was head down so it wasn't that.
Thanks 3 and WM for sharing your experiences. I'm not sure whether I would want a c-section or a v-bac but I know I'd like to have the option of an elective before I get pregnant again. Does that make any sense at all?!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
who was asking bout car seats and easyjet??
It is the accompanying person's responsibility to ensure that the minor is adequately secured into the aircraft seat. To this end easyJet will accept a car seat supplied by the accompanying person for any child over six months for whom an airline seat has been purchased, provided that the car seat has a rigid metal or plastic frame, is no wider than 42cm, includes lap, shoulder and crotch straps, and is upright and forward facing.

Yes very much so. I just didn't like the thought of going through the whole emergency thing again. Buttons being banged on the wall. Doctors and nurses running around. No one telling you whats happening. To know you can have an elective if you want is a relief.0
