Been to the doctors and it was a complete waste of time.

Told her all my symptoms and said the symptoms had gone on long enough and they were making me feel depressed. She ignored all the symptoms and went straight for the depressed angle. I had to fill in one of those crappy question sheets that asks how many times you have cried and if you've tried to kill yourself etc., which I didn't want to fill in, so I just ticked it randomly.

She said yes, you're depressed. Here's a card for Mind. Give them a ring and come back in a few weeks.

I asked about the physical symptoms that are bothering me and said I would feel happier getting them sorted out, but she said there is nothing else wrong and I'm just depressed.

There is no way I'm going to Mind. I went there once before when I really was depressed and it was awful. The lady was all touchy feeling and kept holding my hand and rubbing my arm and thigh in a "there there" way which made me feel really uncomfortable. She was asking what was bothering me and I was saying stuff and she would say "oh well you could do this, or you could do that, or you could not just do anything, it doesn't really matter does it?" Errrr yes it does matter as I like plans and knowing what to expect and it's the sitting on the fence worrying about stuff that makes me feel anxious!

I've made an appointment with a different doctor but the earliest I could get was the 23rd Feb.

I've been looking on BUPA and a private GP consultation costs £61 so I'm thinking about trying there instead if I can scrape the money together.
Here I go again on my own....

Are you proud of being deemed capable of playing with a small child :rotfl: what was the visit for elle?

    Completely! :D:p

Play specialists are supposed to bridge the gap between monthly physio visits. I was never convinced we really needed them but willing to give it a go, but now I'm pretty much convinced that we don't. We're at the physios next week so I'll ask them if they think we really need to continue

Just left Rhys nappy free for a while - for the first time :o He laid there almost completely still, star-like, just muttering for ages, then came alive again once I put his nappy back on him. I have a child with nudity issues :rotfl:

Becles - I'd be tempted to phone the surgery again and ask to see another GP. Two weeks is too long to wait for an appointment, if you can, try and be firm and say you really can't wait that long, and want an appointment this week. Might be worth a shot before forking out.

becles - agree with feelie, ring them back.
there are guidelines which state anyone with any signs of depression have to fill out one of those questionnaires, based on answers offer counselling THEN antidepressants. If you feel your problens aren't depression then go back & ask for a blood test.

hopefully be back in abit -try to have something to eat & J is still very whingey & clingy
