Jillie how many godparents are you having?

traditionally you have 2 of the same sex as baby/child and 1 other sex so in our case
    2 males and 1 female.
hard part is they have to be confirmed as well. DH was christened but his brother and sister werrent and his cousins were not christened either.

so we're having one of my brothers (hard choice as to which one) my sister and then one of our male friends. need to decide between 2.

Thanks for this Elle, not being a regular formula/EBM user it is nice to have something to refer to.

I filter my tap water to put in my kettle do FF people think this is OK for making up formula? I live in a hard water area so if I don't filter it limescale builds up so quickly -yuck!
I think you need to check, I have it in my head that you shouldn't use filtered water because it contains higher levels of sodium (aka salt)

elle - sodium level is also why you shouldn't use reboiled water to make formula ;)

Oh I didn't realise they have to be confirmed. I am going to have to check. I was thinking we'll have two women and one man, but may have to rethink who now tho.

Thanks Sami - I have only used water from the tap previously but would be so much easier to use what we use.

Ah well, Seth is definitely destined to not live to adulthood if thats what it is, he's been having re-boiled water to make his milk for months now, and sometimes the water is filtered too depending on where we are! We arent posh enough for a water filter, thats the IL's :rotfl:

Hair chopped, the lovely hairdresser man only needed to take 2 inches off, woo! I hate having long hair, but need it long for the wedding. Which reminds me, I really should look out the wedding womans number and go and pester her with regards to booking it up...

Glam, I hope posting was therapeutic for you and you feel better now its all off your chest xx

  • Our kettle has a filter in it so we are stuffed :rotfl:and I reboil!!

BTW - I am suffering from the disadvantage of a CM over a nursery - if CM is ill then you have no-one else to cover *rolleyes*

Hubby sat on sofa watching discovery channel. I know he can't do anything but I need to train my head not to be annoyed with him for not doing anything :o

Bought my MIL some flowers and some chocs (Thorntons are half price in Tesco ATM) to show that there are no hard feelings about the other day.

Krystal - pate? I can't think why not, although quite high in iron? I think we tend to think that all the things we couldn't have when pregnant are bad for babies too (well I do anyway!!)

Can I cook a steak in my slow cooker?

Uh-oh Emlou lol we just have a filter jug it helps our kettle live longer :D but obviously doesn't help LOs

Right I need to get organised. In my bid to break out of my blues I need to plan where I am going groupwise over the next couple of weeks to keep T entertained plus make myself some kind of rota to keep my house tidy and stop relying on DH doing so much, so when he gets home from work he can rest.

Why is it that no one is answering phones for any of the groups ?!

One to avoid for us then! Have always used fresh water anyway, just curious why you're supposed to. It was me only putting the kettle on for Rhys' bottle last night, leaving it too cool for a bit (aka think I was reading here and didn't want to jump the second the kettle clicked :p) and Craig then deciding he wanted a cuppa too so he went to reboil the kettle and I told him to pour Rhys' bottle out first ;)

Well the play specialist has confirmed I'm more than capable to play with my own son! *rolleyes* She didn't do anything we don't already, turned up with a bag full of the toys we have doubles of and isn't at all bothered he doesn't want to roll or sit and it's just fine to let him carry on only standing if that's what he wants to do..

When I had Aimee christened, her Godparents had to be christened themselves but not confirmed...

    Mfd, what happened with MIL?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

MFD- I forgot to tell you that I picked up some of the posh tampons in the tins reduced in Boots. *Hopes MFD remembers mentioning them on here otherwise I will look like a feminine hygiene weirdo* No TOTM for over a year, and I already had about six packets but better to be safe than sorry :rotfl:.

Just found out my cousin's wife is pregnant. Only six weeks so still early days. Is it wrong that the news has made me think about having another :o....

Which brings me on to something that has been playing on my mind. Who would I need to speak to about finding out if I would be able to choose to have an elective c-section with my next pregnancy? I'd like to find out whether it's possible before I get pregnant again, not that I have decided whether I would choose one, but I would like to have the option...
