Did you have pre eclampsia? Having a de-breif is a good idea if you have questions about what happened and why. The sooner the better too, don't let it fester away.

    Hi Tia,

No I was induced early and about 12 hours later my placenta abbrupted (? spelling) and I lost over 3 pints of blood had an emergency c-section and then had to have an iron IV for 2 weeks as my iron count went down to 7.6, which I understand is quite low.

Not quite the water birth I was hoping for, and combined with my waters leaking from 32 weeks I would like some reassurance about why all of this happened, and if my body could cope with pregnancy/ childbirth again.

I would like to do it again as until 32 weeks I had such an easy time and loved being pg, but if I can't do it again we would definitely look to adopt as I want at least 2 bambinos (preferably 3)

i agree with what weezl said about the "fake" -- she said it way better than i could have though!
Hi weezl! :) How is kester-bump coming along?? xx

Hiya carla, we missed you ;)

bounty told me today he is over 40 cm long . I'm gonna pack a bag soon too...

He's very kicky, but less hiccups than ferg and shorter fingernails so far. That sounds weird but I could feel ferg's fingernails when he swooshed his fist in front of his head to try to suck his thumb.

    Is this TMI? :o

I've not mixed anything yet! I am going to get him some brocolli tomorrow - does it puree OK?

So far he's had Apple, Pear, Banana, Sweet Potato and Carrot. I'm going to get him Brocolli, Parsnip & butternut Squash tomorrow - once he's had something once and been OK I will start mixing!

Glam, Rose loves brocolli. It seemed a bit strong to start with so i mixed it with cauli then gradually reduced the amount of cauli i was mixing with it. It just mashes with a fork easily x

    Ladies and gentlemen...

    We have poopsplosion! :T :T

After phoning NHS Direct this morning, they told me to give him the cooled boiled water. Over the course of the afternoon, I prolly got about 1.5oz into him. This evening, we have the doctor's appt and he says all is fine and subscribes suppositories (said this is normal and usually the result of developing/immature bowels in babies) to help move things along.

WELL, we open the nappy to give him the suppository and there's about a 10p piece of dark poo in the nappy. This is encouraging, so I prep the suppository and inserting it quite reasonably upsets him, which results in poopsplosions lasting for the next 15 minutes! :rotfl:He actually pooed out the pill twice so he hasn't actually had it. But he's pooed for England now and hopefully the stimulation/water was enough to kick-start things back to normalcy. But now I have loads of spare medicine if he doesn't go again after this!

wow, that was probably the longest Parent Thread post on record about poo! :rotfl: :rotfl: :T

Angela - so do you steam it and then mash it?
I tend to steam stuff til its dead soft and then blend it.

Gemma - how early were you induced? I didn't think you were due so soon.

Anyone had a LO who just keeps crying in their sleep?
J cries in his sleep and it only stops if I pop his dummy in, he's doing it now and only been asleep 40mins, he did it 4 times last night and also does it when he naps, he's been doing it for the last couple of days. I thought it might be teething but not sure!

    yep :)

Anything with -ose at the end. Natural milk has lactose. Sugar is sucrose. Fruit sugar is fructose. The most immediately available and therefore slightly more potent one is glocose. Bacteria eat glucose, and poo acid which eats teeth.

All sugars are coverted to glucose though, it just takes a bit of doing. If you chew bread for a while it gets sweeter, This is because your saliva is causing it to become maltose and finally glucose.

    Anyone still with me?
