Hello all,
Happy Birthday to Annabel! And Happy Birthday to Violet for tomorrow in case I am not on. Are you having a party for her 3?chopsticks wrote: »3 - happy birthday to Vi for tomorrow. Are you having a party (is that the reason for the Costco trip?)
Thank you ladies (and everyone else). No party, but open house for visitors. Probably both sets of grandparents, aunty, uncles and a couple of friends with little ones.
Costco trip was for cake , just a plain Victoria Sponge which I might decorate. Little Sister was also pricing up party food - she's throwing a going away party for her OH as he's going to The Galapagos (sp?) to work for three months.
Gorgeous pics Jillie.
Excellent ebaying Searchie. :T Have you got the bug now, and you'll be searching for more [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] stuff to sell?
MFD Sorry I didn't come on in the early hours and tell you all how much I love you - I wasn't that drunk.(Although I have felt absolutely dreadful all day and had to have an emergency medicinal Costco hotdog).
Hugs for OH, and  for your Mum. How can you be lonely with all of us here to keep you company.
:jYey for toothy, standy & climby babies. :j:beer:0 -
I'm not OK - I don't think I'll get much sleep

Hi 3 - happy birthday Vi for tomorrow!!
Fitzio - send them round! OH was saying about watching the superbowl tomorrow night and ordering pizza (he was joking cos it's on at 1am) so I said 'I would be really nice to get a Chinese wouldn't it?' Fell on deaf ears!

Sorry I'm not keeping up again. Had a really busy day.
Was out doing an audit for work this morning, then had some errands to run in town, then been doing DIY this afternoon. The framework and plywood panel from the stud wall in the bathroom, the toilet cistern and the basin and pedestal have all gone. Toilet pan and bath are going tomorrow.
Bathed Bob while we still have a bath, so he's all clean and fluffy. That's a hard job as he weighs around 25kg and point blank refuses to go in the bath, so I have to drag him into it!
I only bath him a couple of times a year when he starts to get stinky. He's a border collie so they have two coats as they are designed to live on the moors etc. He's got long shiny hairs on top, and then short fluffy hair underneath. It takes ages rinsing all the shampoo out of that lot!
In between that I've been putting stuff in the washer then dryer and managed to iron a load, and made a spag bol for tea.
Just having a cuppa then going to shower Charlotte and put her to bed, and see what films are on Sky.Here I go again on my own....0 -

Not really a special recipe as such.
6oz marg (vitalite seems to help make it lighter - tip from cheffy SIL)
5oz S/R flour (mum substitutes 1oz of cornflour in this but I didn't have any)
3oz Cadbury drinking chocolate (not cocoa proper purple tub drinking choc)
6oz caster sugar
3 eggs.
mix together but dont beat it too hard.
add 3 tbsp boiling water (this makes it very runny but also makes sponge really light and airy)
mix together again until smooth but don't over beat.
Pour evenly into two sandwich tins.
Bake at Gas 5 (180) for 35 ish minutes.
Icing is icing sugar, marg/butter, milk if needed to make smoother, peppermint flavouring and green colouring. Has to be green, mum used blue once when she ran out of green and it truely did not taste right at all!!!
Sandwich both pieces together with the butter icing in the middle. Make a cuppa and enjoy.
