Mel - will you worry if you don't have the checks in the scan?
I didn't have the soft marker things, I saw my friend go through hell waiting for her DD to be born because she was too scared to have amnio and was told that the heart prob they picked up was often linked to downs, it turned out she was fine (apart from the heart prob they'd picked up on the scan)

I have said on both mine and will say on any future babes that I only want to know if there is any 'bits' missing/extra or anything that would need urgent surgery but not anything that 'might' be IYSWIM. the main reason for that is so surgeons could be prepared / I wouldn't get a shock if baby popped out missing a leg or something, I just feel that it would taint things if my first thought when seeing my baby was it's missing a leg/arm I would never consider abortion though either.

but I respect that others need/want to know these things
