I haven't read all the posts today, so hope I haven't missed anything important out...
Weezl - I'll happily try out some of your recipes (as long as they don't involve a pig's head. I also don't like beetroot). We need to cut our food bill down again here, it's been creeping up. By the way, you still haven't sent me your address. I know it's because you don't want me to send you anything, but I want to, so please email it to me
Tara - congrats to you on becoming a grandma. :j. Sending lots of good wishes to DD and GDD.
GISI - I haven't read far back as the beginning of the swimming lessons discussion but I take Caitlin each week. We block book for each half term (6 weeks) and it costs £48, so £8 per week. It is expensive but I think it's worth it. Everything we do is fun, but it's based around teaching the babies what to do if they ever fall in water. For example, every time we take them to the side of the pool, we say "hold on" and encourage them to hold on. We do "humpty dumpty sat on the wall, humpty dumpty fell into the pool" and let them flop from the edge of the pool into the water (holding on to them for support). We also have floats, balls and toys in the pool at different times, and encourage the babies to kick them or reach out for them so if they ever fell in water, they would hopefully try and find something to hold on to. We also dunk them under the water (properly, not just dunk!) two or three times a session.
Caitlin loves it and, although it is expensive, it's the only regular activity we do together that we pay for (other things we do, or have done, such as Rhyme Time, baby massage have been free). The other thing to consider is that, I personally, would feel a bit of a dork if I took Caitlin to a public swimming pool to do all this stuff. I also wouldn't have all the floats, toys, balls, watering cans, etc available. This is a photo of Caitlin underwater in one of her lessons.
MFD - glad you've spoken to hubby and all is OK.
MrsMoc - you sound very happy and I'm really pleased for you. You deserve some happiness.0 -
She did try, but I did find it a bit insenstive when she sent her pg announcement in a Christmas Card.Proud to be dealing with my debts

no you dont do that (put it in a card i mean) if you're a friend you talk person to person i always felt if something was to be said and truly meant the only way to say is facetoface no matter how uncomfortable it is xStill searching .....:)

Just away to read back, away to order a takeaway in a mo, but not sure what to get. The kebab place near by is cheap but gives me sore guts, the chinese is utterly rank. Maybe look through the menus I have.
 at the waterbabies price....surely lessons at 1/2 would be more beneficial than when they are an infant? Not that I'd know like, but I do know a baby couldn't swim, yah?
I really need to get Keira lessons, it's just that i wont go in the pool with my apron.0 -

SM, maybe if you just try to get out of the house to groups and meet other mums to start with, dont go aiming to look for a friend as such, as you will just be dissapointed if you dont meet anyone you click with, but if you go just for a chat, even if all you talk about are the kids, then its a start, and a friendship can come of it.
Trust me I have been there, my best friend was one of my customers that I did an ann summers party for and then our kids started going to school together and we just chatted outside the gates waiting for the kids and are now at each others houses all the time and go out together etc ...The two best things I have done with my life

I can't think of any other way to check and it's too big to get in a bucket of water like I would a bike tyre :rotfl:
Inflate it fully and cover hte top ring where the puncture is with bubble bath or soap etc.. and water and then try to deflate the pool by leaning on it and it should bubble where the hole isThe two best things I have done with my life
