I'm with tara and Susan :) In a gentle, just trying to understand, kind of way.. *confused*

And on that note, I really must get dressed and go out!

    TTFN all xx
  • I was talking to my Mum about breastfeeding yesterday, and how funny it is that I'm so militant about breastfeeding. She never said 'Breast is best' or anything like that, but breastfeeding was always the norm - I saw hundreds of women feeding when my Mum was a La Leche Leader. I asked her about me becoming a LLL because of my lack of sympathy :o and she said she sometimes found it frustrating. She said she tried not to pass on too much pro-breastfeeding attitude to me so I could make my own choices, but even so I'm pretty militant.

I'm also suprised at how much of a pro-breastfeeding and pro attachment parenting person OH has turned into. He is a complete convert!

It is such an emotive topic, but I like the fact that we are talking about it in a 'joined-up' way IYSWIM. I hate it being 'them' and 'us'.

Hope you didn't get offended at all by my post - that applies to everyone. xx

Boobie groups- middle class in all sorts of ways excluding sandwich fillings MFD? ;)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You do realise that most of the people here now don't have a clue what you are on about :D

At one of my Booby Clubs (the best one, where they gave us as much tea and coffee as you could drink, gave us lunch and a fantastic selection of fruit and had the best 2 Big Boobies in the world) they gave us Cheese-and-CornedBeef sandwiches one day  together on the same sandwich!!

Weezl - can I ask if you intend to try to BF again? I may have missed you already saying (and personally hope you don't, I hate the thought of you in pain).
If you do bottle feed - I like the idea of telling people that only you (and maybe hubby) can feed Kester for the first few weeks at least.

On a completely unrelated note, I just had a face-to-face stand up confrontation with one of the company managers that I work with where he went bright red in the face (even the whites of his eyes) and actually shook with anger . We were having a 'discussion' about his attitude and approach.
Sometimes I am glad I am a woman, as a man I don't think I would have walked out of there without black eyes and a bl00dy nose :o
    Gotta love my job :T

Can I admit (quietly) that I do not understand why some women do not even try to BF, even once, so they make the decision not to whilst pregnant. How can you know if you can, or are comfortable etc, if you haven't had a go? But then if you try it, even once and don't get on then bottle is best for both of you. I add that this is only my opinion, not a strong one, more a gentle one! X

And it is aimed at no-one, please don't take offence. XXX

It wasnt for me a decision based on 'I dont want to bf' it was 'I want to give a bottle'
Partly because I wanted Chris to share responsibility for feeding, that I was going back to work very quickly and most importantly, sorry for how this sounds, I really really really didnt like the idea of BF. Never have and even after expressing for Dylan, still wouldnt decide to do it even if I had another baby.

I dont think any one thing would change that either, its just not something I feel I have to do to give my kids the best in life !!

And on another completely unrelated note ...

I've just had a letter inviting me to be on the Parent Forum for our NICU! Apparently they need ideas on many things, not least of which is what to spend some charity money on, to make the unit more family-friendly.

About 3-4 days then I start to get peed off! I'd remind someone after 5 days
  • SM, I think you have to allow them 3 days minimum ... but I have never had to wait that long, so I am not completely sure
