I've never had chickenpox! Oldest of 7

I was vaccinated against it in 2008 because Occy Health where doing them and I couldn't see any reason not to have it.

Anyways, found my documents so I can deffo have my car on Monday - 2 more sleeps to go :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

jenny - what's this mythical class by Lambeth council? HMPH, I haven't heard a peep! Of course, Erin's like 2 months older than Finn so maybe there's still time for us :P. Do you know of any baby massage in the area? My HVs are useless!!

    Welcome KT!
    .

It was quite odd, having not heard anything from lambeth since E was born I suddenly get this letter inviting me to a four week parenting course with a weeks notice. Most of the babies were around four months so maybe you will get one soon? My course is in Streatham near the cinema.

Haven't found any good baby massage classes, I went to a free one when e was 4 weeks but I was the only mum there so I didn't go back! However next week on the parenting course we are covering baby massage and have been asked to bring our own oil. is olive oil ok for baby massage? it's the only thing we have in our cupboards.

Had a plumber out who gave us a stupid quote.

Plumber 1 said £150-£180 depending on parts.
Plumber 2 said £100 plus about £50 for parts.
Plumber 3 said up to £150 depending on parts.

Bloke this morning said about £400-£450

Craig has taken some floor boards up and found that two thick copper pipes that we thought were part of the central heating system were not joined onto anything! They must have been left in when I had the old hot water tank taken out and a combi boiler put in years ago. He's taken those pipes out and it's created a lot more room in the space behind the toilet, so he's now wondering if he can do it himself.

I did all the plumbing in our bathroom when we renovated our flat. Plastic pipes are the way to go if you ask me! We had lead pipes before and got £50 for them! If you need advice the ultimatehandyman website is brill.

Olive oil is perfect for baby massage, Jenny.
  • Hi all,

Evie had her 1st jabs yesterday. Was a bit miserable yesterday afternoon so had a bit of calpol but otherwise fine when she's awake. She has been a lot sleepier than normal tho. Slept for nearly 5 hours yesterday afternoon, just waking for a 10 min feed and i was worried it would disrupt her night (which she is into a good routine for) but luckily it didn't. She slept 10:30pm til 5am, then 5:30am til 8:15am. She was awake and happy as normal this morning but has now been asleep and letting me do housework for the last 2 and a half hours which isn't like her!

Am torn now between wanting her to sleep longer so i can get stuff done, and wanting her to wake up so i've got an excuse not to! :rotfl: Might tell OH she's been a little terror when he gets in from work at 6 so he'll make the tea and can get him to do some housework

Aless, how's Finn now after his jabs?

Beenie, Becles, SusanC and any other northeners (not sure if anyone is)- do you fancy arranging a trip to Metro Centre or Giants Den sometime? Or anywhere else you can think of.

Have started a 6 week baby first aid course now. Its ok but i wanted to meet people but all the others seem to know each other already so its difficult. Its at a children's centre attached to a school so think most of them either have kids at the school or know each from other groups or work/volunteer at the school.

    xx

maz - Finn had his jabs yesterday, too! Was v grouchy in the evening but once he got to sleep (in the end), he was fine. He's also slept loads today, so I guess our babies are parallel!! He slept for 3hrs this morning and I've just put him down again so we'll see.

    Yay for good sleep, weezl!
