Ok not read everything got bored, heres my view.

Worse and most unfortunate naming of a product EVER!!!!! Seriously did they tell the guy who named it he was being made redundant after he'd named the thing? Anyway well done apple for doing the critics job for them.

Down to the product, big iphone (as has been said before) without the phone part. This deserves to go the way apples TV thing did. Infact if it doesn't its a testament to the ifans fanaticism.

If it were reasonably priced, I would consider recommending the iPad to my computer phobic retired mother. The lack is multi tasking is an asset - no chance of hidden programmes liking in the background or a lock-up from leaving too many things open.

I've found from the iPod Touch that no matter WHAT you do wrong or WHERE you get lost, press the big button and you are returned to the desktop. There is almost no maintenance to do. She would use it for reading newspapers and maybe BBC iPlayer for radio programmes plus maybe reading emails, as a replacement for the current fax machine.

Not the kind of customer Apple had in mind!

I'm not too keen on it myself. iTab or iTablet is a much better name.

The Apple TV is an absolutely fantastic device. I just wish they'd update it a bit more often.

Usual mactard !!!!! whinging about how good, sorry, great everything apple does is whilst condescending that if you dont think so you're plain stupid, shortly thereafter slagging off every other company you can think of because apple does everything better failing to notice the hypocrisy of this considering the first part of the tirade.

Besides which the guy is lying:

So basically the tv thing is not a tv thing at all just a way of inflicting itunes on people in a broader sense, no wonder its ignored and rightly so, itunes is as the priest from the other thread would say is the devils work.

If you’re not impressed, you’re simply not very intelligent.

Unless of course, you are the CEO of Nintendo and are shrugging off the iPad, not because you’re trying to look cool and ingratiate yourself with the Apple-haters, but because you realize that your own mobile AND console gaming platforms now look straight up ridiculous.

And really, isn’t there some massive hubris involved with Nintendo blowing off the iPad as “just a big iPod touch” after it has only managed to rev the DS ineffectually and rebadge the GameCube as the Wii over the last several years?

Why is that a lie?

Its the iphone/ipod OS with the same limitations not the fully fledged sophisication OSX, would you consider it a lie or just bending the truth for effect? A bit like the last two quotes above in bold.
