Have the doctors given your friend any idea about whether the incontinence will sort itself out, or is it permanent? It's a horrible thing to live with, at any age :(

    - what about mashed/pureed root veg and potatoes? I'm only going from memory here of what my Auntie used to feed my cousins . Sorry to hear about your friend, I've missed quite a few dailies lately so that's new to me.:(

Nimbo - I live alone too, and used to use the breast meat and bin the rest :o Making stock can seem daunting but it is SO EASY and tasty. If you need any help just Pm or I can look up thread links for you - once you do it and gain the results you will be shocked that you haven't been doing it all along! I was paranoid of poisoning myself too, and was squeamish about picking bones:o

SOup recipes! EEk! Where's that thread? Soup recipes , a new fave of mine is Leek and potato and i use this recipe of Thriftladys

I've taken so long to reply i don't have much time left! The last few days have been bonkers. My living room now has a fresh coat of plaster and has been drying out. The painters were supposed to be coming today, but one is sick so now tomorrow. I am getting two walls painted dark aubergine and the rest cream - white. I have been online picking curtains and have fallen in love with these

but they don't seem to be lined  It also means i would need 3 sets of curtains as i have a massive bay window, and i would need to pay to get two pairs joined together, and also getting them lined - as I don't think I could do that! So that's £240 plus lining and joining cost! Oh and i want this light -

The one called H.! I have a double room so am not sure if two would be too much?

So yesterday i ran around like a mad woman! I hardly stopped all day. Today i have been up from 1030 and have done pilates , tidied and done stuff so more than I Usually have by this time.

OS wise I am making a wheaten loaf and hopefully leek and potato soup later. Mum is picking me up to go to the bank with her in 40 mins so I better get a wriggle on! We are getting bakery lunch out, and coming here so I can show her all my online linkies :D Also have to go paint shopping and am nipping into the scoopamarket.

Bought the most FAB plates yesterday in a second hand shop - italian bowls with italian writing! Will upload a pic later when i have more time.:D

    Afternoon all :hello:

Struggling to keep my eyes open but thought I'd better post. :o

Have spent the day in the kitchen and have made cheese scones, plain scones, 2 banana loaves, carrot cake, wheaten bread, shortbread, 2 poppy seed loaves, smoked mackeral pate and a huge vat of cullen skink. :D
Swished and swiped the house as well and had a quick look in the charity shops and picked up a couple of paperbacks I've been meaning to read.
Tonight's plan is to make the bubble and squeak for tea, make up our bed and dust the spare room. Hopefully followed by a bath and an early night.
Aussie will be here tommorrow :j:j:j:j:j:jso I'm looking forward to showing her around and feeding her. :D

Hope the scan results are ok Snoozer. x
Sorry about your friend Candy. x
Nice curtains Zippy. I saw your post about dark carpet the other day and have to say I wouldn't advise it as you'll find it shows up every bit of fluff and cat hair. ;) I'm sure the room will be lovely. x

    Off for another coffee.

    It's yummy, not yucky. :p
  • Evening all

I had to man a stall at a carrer's fair today. It was rather boring as no-one really comes to chat to me as the charity I work for isn't really something on people's 'career path's', it's something people fall into etc! I did however do some networking, had a free lunch and finished early ;)

I also managed to pop to Morrisons on the way home. I got there just in time as they had yellow-stickered loads of things  I got 2 blocks of cheese (mature cheddar and tintern) for 19p each, a cream cake for 25p, pack of 4 bread rolls 29p, fresh pizza 79p, and coleslaw 30p - bargain!! It's not a local store to me, but I'll be working from that area shortly for a few months so finger's crossed I should get more bargains!

Nothing OS or else planned for tonight. DW went on this morning so I've unloaded that. I'm really in a can't be @rsed mood. I'm having nachos for tea - so quick in the microwave. Then settling down with trashy magazines and the tv for the night.

    Have a good evening all

    Hi all.

Internet problems fixed yesterday so I'm back online :T The Sky dish has decided to stop receiving a signal though and despite much frenzied searching on the internet for help (DH that is) we are waiting for an engineer to come out tomorrow afternoon. It's very OS in the living room at the moment as I am crocheting while listening to the radio :) The kids & DH have all decamped upstairs to the kids tv's that have freeview built in :rotfl: I shall enjoy the peace while it lasts!

Got the final few things sorted re MIL today too - banked her funeral plan money & paid up at the nursing home. I got them a card and some flowers to thank them for all the small kindnesses that they showed in the remaining weeks of MIL's life. I know it's their job but some of the staff were particularly lovely and really went the extra mile.

Have speed read the thread so ((hugs)) if you need one my mind has gone completely blank :o

    Have a good evening xx

    Evening peeps

managed to read the thread in bits and bats throughout the day but can`t remember much of it now, its been a very busy day and i`m bushed.

Its very windy here and bitterly cold, the weather forecast says that we will get some snow tomorrow  i really hope that the snow dosen`t materialize, i thought that we had seen the last of the white stuff and i was looking forward to getting out in the garden at the weekend as i`ve got some time off.

Tea is cooking as we speak, we shall be having liver and bacon casserole with roasties and runner beans and i shall treat myself to a nice g&t to unwind before an early night. Midsommer murders is on later but i`m sure that i won`t manage to stay awake until the end.

Best go check on the oven.

Have a warm cosy evening everyone, nice to see you back Sunny girl :hello:
