Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Weday 27th January. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning.
No thread yet today? I am not going to write anything like the post you might get from Diva.
Nothing much doing here, cold and work today. Busy day on this again. De-stress with some wine and pizza tonight me thinks...
Dell came and replaced almost everything inside my wife's laptop for free so she has almost a new computer with nothing on it. Hope we can recover some of the files from the old HD. Seems the 3yr free warranty worked
Have a good one

Morning all,
N9eav, glad you are here, been waiting for someone to start the Daily.
Just a note to say I won't be posting for a day or so, I have some... stuff to deal with.
Nothing to do with Tris, he and Michelle are both still Ok, not great but fighting which is the best we can hope for. Thank you for the prayers and thoughts.
with hugs
Diva.To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -

Good morning all.
N9eav - that is such a dreadful case. It's bad enough reading about things like that - I have no idea how you deal with it when you have to be involved in such awful things, especially when children are involved. It must test your faith in human nature.
MSD - I do hope things are OK with you. (((Hugs))) if you are in need of them.
Well, it has turned really cold here, just when I thought maybe spring was on the way. Still, at least we are at the right side of winter and the shortest day has been and gone. I can't believe we're almost at the end of January already.
Dinner tonight is something to do with the delicious Toulouse sausages we get here, but I haven't decided yet. The first thing I must concentrate on today is the ironing which has been looking at me for days wondering when it's going to get done! So, I had better get stoked up with another cuppa and some breakfast.

Morning
MSD - Hope your stuff... works out he way you want it to, have still got Tris and Michelle in my thoughts.
Well, I am so pleased with myself:j I went to buy my dogfood yesterday and close by theres an all singing all dancing Tesc*, I just had to have a look around, as you do. Got 7!! packs of Cumberland sausages for 35p each instead of £1.35 and got DH 4 packs of pheasant breasts reduced to 75p from £3.00. I never manage to get any whoopsies, I often read about other people getting them, now I've joined the gang. Feeling very OS this morning. The downside is that I've gone over my first ever GC, but their in the freezer and will last into next month anyway, so maybe it'll even out.
Still haven't got hoover going, think I'll have to buy a new one (in fact I know I will). With 3 large hairy dogs we will have another carpet on top of the original one soon. But still managing to cope without the microwave, just have to plan ahead a bit more, hmm yes, well try to:rotfl:
(((Hugs))) to all in need of them
Lowesy - You're still in my thoughts0 -
Morning all
Hugs Diva, hope everything gets sorted soon.
Whoopsies are great aren't they Remmie.
I don't envy you your job N9eav.
Bargain bird, I can't remember what the incubation period is for CP, but I do remember my DS's classmate catching it & counting the days & realising DS would get it the day we arrived at Butlins for our holiday & he did.
Yesterday I had 3 out of 4 machines out of order, when the engineer turned up he told me 2 of the breakdowns were my fault, I'd been using the machines too much. Oh dear, I didn't realise they were only there for decoration.
Have a good day everyone.
Hug Hester

Remmie - A pair of rubber gloves and a bit of the old hands and knees will help with the carpet temporarily.
I`ll be back later guys
Have a good day.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning All
(((Diva)))
Very cold here today, have bumped the heating up a little for a while. Loads to do have resigned myself to having one of those weeks. Have Insurance Assessor coming round this morning to look at our damaged worktop. Loads of paperwork to do but still not had laptop returned yet.
Will make sure the small ironing pile is cleared and try and attempt some housework but will have to pop out later with OH to pick up another lorry. So no baking or scrapbooking today - may as well leave it to the weekend.
Think is barbeque pork casserole for dinner tonight.
Hope you all have good days.x0 -
Morning all,
Very cold here too brrrrr, back to icy conditions.
I had a bad nights sleep, had a nightmare which kept me awake half the night, I dreamt thet OH came up to bed, and it was not him, but a stranger and he attacked me, made sure it was OH when he did come up by feeling his hair and face :rotfl:poor bloke.
Off to work today, will have some porridge before I go, and make a sandwich to take with me, tea tonight will be egg and bacon, with beans and bread and butter, nice and easy and tasty.
The laminate OH collected last night looks great, cant wait to get it down on saturday, :T I am going to take some photos for my FB.
OK have good days all, hugs where needed xx0 -
Good Morning All. Diva - take care.
Hester - that's just typical isn't it? Over use indeed!
Redruby - nightmares are spooky aren't they? I always have to wake myself up thoroughly as if not the wretched thing seems to come back.
Well, dining room actually looks pretty good finally - and at this moment there's a crate of stuff sitting on DH's chair for him to sort out!!:D
Not sure what I'm doing OS wise today, apart from stretching the pork for yet another meal! Have to sing at a Holocaust service this morning and need to prepare for tuition this afternoon. Might get another load down to the charity shop (got rid of large case and a huge bag full of books yesterday).
Oh well, onward and upward! ((HUGS)) if you need one.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Sunnyday - Thanks, I have found that wearing my walking boots with a bit of tread on helps, just have to do a soft shoe shuffle across the carpet IYKWIM0
