  • so you know if it's 'proper' AF I'd stop going for acupuncture for the time being if this is whats inducing it...has the acupuncturist spoken to you about it and what they're doing/releasing etc???? For OV if you're not using OPKs have a look at the current discussion on Cervical mucus;) You also become hornier around OV as its your bodies way of telling you to reproduce(we are only animals afterall:))
As for when AFs due....if you're lucky enough to have a text book 28 day cycle then yep AF will be due 14 days after OV..otherwise it varies..I have a 34day cycle & OV around cd20 and I'm lucky enough to have a 14day Luteal Phase so AF arrives the day after cd34 IYSWIM.
The lack of period could suggest a hormonal imbalance somewhere and is best to speak to your doctor about, but if you're too over/underweight periods can stop too. Basically it's down to hormones and finding out which hormone is stopping AF from showing.

I hope this makes sense and I'm sure others with longer cycles etc will be able to help you more:)

Thanks confuzzled, lots of info there for me to be going on with.
I am currently a little overweight, but not by an amount that I would have thought would interfere with my periods, but I'll keep it in mind. I am on a diet (think I always will be! lol) but eating healthily as I can. Someone once said to me 'you need to keep yourself in tip top condition, your body needs to be like a 5* hotel for a baby to wanna stay in it!' which I thought was pretty cute ;)

    A xx
  • Oooh, and can I go on the list??

  • Sparkle Join the club...I'm on a lifelong diet too!! Unfortunately being overweight is a theme in my family I am desperate to avoid and so far have done well:D Just had a blip in my early 20s but that was mostly from emotional damage:o
I'm currently within my ideal weight range but these damn hips just won't shrink!!!Then again I probably do have more 'treats' than I should...Becs' cola cake probably won't help either:rotfl: I like that 5* hotel thing..I'll have to remember that next time I'm reaching for the chocolate:p:rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Glad you got the reference:p:rotfl: Can't believe I remembered it tbh:)

I remember someone on here saying about ibuprofen so i impressed myself by not taking any this morning when i had AF pains. What is it that it does again?
Re hips: I've been told I've got child bearing hips, so at least they'll be useful for something. Either that or they're too polite to say I've got a big bum and hips. DH loves to tell the dog that he's got a big bum like his mother. So then I tell the dog that he's got a big nose like his father!

Right, I've got to go and tidy the tip that is the spare bedroom. I've got a nasty suspicion that the dog has hidden in there a mouldy bread roll that he found in the street yesterday. Insert vomiting smiley. Well, there's an incentive to clean a room!

Hugs and sticky baby dust to all x
  • Sparkle, obviously being a healthy weight is best for you and a future baby, but there are plenty of "larger" ladies who get pg and make it ok. Try not to get too hung up on it. Having a healthy(ish) diet and keeping active (in mind and body) will help you to a) stay sane whilst ttc and b) prepare for running round after your toddler in the future!

I'm technically overweight, have been on a million and 1 diets and at one point was teetering on an eating disorder. Now my BMI is about 27 (I'm 5'4" and 11st ish, size 14) and, while I curse whilst jeans shopping, I feel more comfortable in my skin now than when I was a size 8. I'm embracing my curves and 40s/50s styling ;)
Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.

I took it right before ov one month and then AF was 11 days late  It moved my ov date as it works by altering the hormone cascade involved in inflammation (which is also involved in ovulation). It can also affect implantation, so I totally avoid taking it now..
