Aargh, I've got myself too giddy and I'm not even oving

this is what website describes what I found last night as Approaching Ovulation http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/cervical-mucus.html

so I need to keep checking for EWCM then? Joy? Those twinges must be my stomach trying to digest the 3rd piece of Chocolate Cola Cake today :o

B M - you now make me think I am past ov which is just bl00dy typical  and Fuzz you're saying it hasn't happened yet - eek! :rotfl:

Penny, I know I haven't spoken to you much but I've been following your story and you seem to at last be coming out the other side. I do think you should consider iron supplements though, not that I'm a doc or anything?

Love to all, I'm actually going to have to go and do some work now so will catch up with you all later xx

Just had a phone call about a job that I only applied for an hour ago. Interview on Friday, but DH isn't too excited. Says I will be bored after 6 months. To which I said hopefully we will be pg by then so you don't have to worry. I think he secretly likes me being a housewife lol

    I Sparkle,

welcome to the thread. Right , first rule. No question is a silly question. We have all been there and are happy to help and answer any questions we can!

Well done on the acupuncture. It seems to have worked. I would take that as AF as it is still a bleed. I would wait until your first day of next AF and start using OPKs to see if they pick up any signs of OV. Also, monitor your CM (cervical mucus) (discharge). Does it change. A sure sign of ov is EWCM - the clear stretchy mucus.

I'm sure the other ladies will have more answers. Good luck and keep posting x
  • You are a soppy old tart fuzz:rotfl:;)

I'm having a weird cycle this month, period was a bit shorter than usual (put that down to the snowboarding though), seem to have ov'd later than normal (cd 18 as opposed to cd15) and had more headaches and agonising post-AF and ov pains this month. Something's going on in there, I'd just like to know what!
    :rotfl::rotfl:Ages since I've been called a tart:p:rotfl:
Sounds odd your cycle! You been ill or taking Ibuprofen???:) as for the agonising post-AF..can't help:( For me, that pain is usually from my less used ovary(the left one).
A little about me. I'm married, been married 13 months now. We started trying Sep 09, BUT I'm not sure if I could have even got pregnant, as I stopped taking my pill (microgynon) Jun 09, and haven't had a period since..... Does this mean I'm not ovulating, so I therefore cant get pregnant?

I've been to the doctor - he wont do anything til I've been 9 months without one, but said acupuncture may help me. So I've been having that since Dec. Tell you what, its amazing. Had 1 session, the whole next week had RAGING AF pains. (Hey, see, I've been looking up on the abbreviation list already!!) lol Went back Fri of the next week, sure enough, Sat, AF arrived!! Only for 3 days though.... Anyway. Since then, had another AF (acupuncture forced again tho I think) and just finished early this week.

I've been taking my temperatures at 6am daily since Nov, and there never seemed to be any pattern, BUT at the start of my last AF my temp dropped lower than it has before - this is what its meant to do right?
It's evened out now, so now I'm just waiting for my OV!

Question is, how do I know when it is?! Since it may not be a 'proper' AF that I had, what are the signs that I have OV? Is it due 14 days after my first day AF?
so you know if it's 'proper' AF I'd stop going for acupuncture for the time being if this is whats inducing it...has the acupuncturist spoken to you about it and what they're doing/releasing etc???? For OV if you're not using OPKs have a look at the current discussion on Cervical mucus;) You also become hornier around OV as its your bodies way of telling you to reproduce(we are only animals afterall:))
As for when AFs due....if you're lucky enough to have a text book 28 day cycle then yep AF will be due 14 days after OV..otherwise it varies..I have a 34day cycle & OV around cd20 and I'm lucky enough to have a 14day Luteal Phase so AF arrives the day after cd34 IYSWIM.
The lack of period could suggest a hormonal imbalance somewhere and is best to speak to your doctor about, but if you're too over/underweight periods can stop too. Basically it's down to hormones and finding out which hormone is stopping AF from showing.

I hope this makes sense and I'm sure others with longer cycles etc will be able to help you more:)

Sammy thats impressive, a job interview an hour after aplying for it:eek: Go you:j Thats one organised HR/manager:p
Dusty go with what your bodies telling you....if you feel a bit randy just jump the poor beggar:p:rotfl:

Phew..... I need a brew after that!

  • Thank you so much for your reply Sammy Girl.

Right, I'm on it with the CM. It does change from, sometimes nothing, to other times like a white creamy, other times its clear and stringy (I'm not very good at describing, and almost cant believe I'm talking about it anyway!!) I'm guessing the clear and stringy as I put it is the EWCM?

It will be great to have a bunch of people to ask all my silly questions to - I've been feeling a bit lonesome with it all really as trying not to go on and on about TTC with the people around me (work, family and so on)
I'd ideally like to keep secret for the 12 weeks that you're meant to, so dont want to let on too early.

I know it'll be sooo hard not to once I get the BFP tho!! lol

    Thanks again

    A xx

Hi sparkle, sounds like your body's just taken its time to get back into a cycle. You can't really predict when you will ov unless you have a regular cycle and can see a pattern emerge. If I were you, I would aim to bd at least every 3 days (or twice a week) until you see AF again. That would give you the best chance of catching any eggs whilst also allowing you to watch your body and help you learn about your fertility signs :)

Not everyone gets ewcm though! You can conceive without it though. I only ever had watery CM for about 3/4 months, then the next month I got a tiny bit of ewcm, then each month's been a bit more to the point where I'd have to be blind if I didn't notice it

Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.

Nope, not ill, no ibuprofen (learned my lesson on that last year :p) Maybe its just one of those things. Or maybe my millions of supplements are finally doing something other than making me bilious?! :rotfl:
