I have no idea what my heart rate gets to, so may invest in a heart rate watch thing, as I run in the park with my doggie, so no fancy machines
Hi Sammy, I am so full envy about you running with your dog. I had two adorable hounds and sadly one died last year and my little lady had to put down just over a week ago. I miss them so much and would love to be running with them. You enjoy it
. What breed is you dog?
We're itching to get another dog but think it'd be sensible to wait for now . . . not sure how long that sensible attitude will stick.
I have just polished off a yummy curry and looking forward to chilling this eve.

Well, I'm sad to say my CBFM hasn't worked for me for its first cycleAs predicted, I started spotting today and so expect AF tomorrow night/early Thursday morning *sigh*
Hugs honey :grouphug: (albeit a dodgy one!) You knew you wouldn't get it this month :slapswrist: we're going together remember
Chin up honey, we'll get there - we just seem to be taking longer than most!
SK xAfter 4 years of heartache, 3 rounds of IVF and 1 loss :A - we are finally expecting our miracle Ki11en - May 2014 :j
And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!0 -
Well I am shattered just reading all the exercise regimes on this thread, think I need a lie down.
On saying that I have cycled 10 miles to work and back each way today.
CD9 for me and being the only CBFMer who's been on it months yet not DTD at peak, reading was the first it asked today and low. DH has worked from home today so thinking if he is up for it we may "empty" his reserves just for the hell of it tonight. Should OV between cd18 and 21 for the peak so fingers crossed it's when I'm away next weekend but it's more likely to be 27th...DH's birthday.
I've downloaded the FF app on my iphone so about to have a play

Luckily I love chicken and pasta so that won't be a problem. I'm more worried about what to eat/drink in the morning before the race at 9:30 (stupidly I've never trained that early). Any advice?
Giz.
I think what your doing is much harder. I used to do a programme very similar to yours but the weights always made me feel sick and I was aching/exhausted all the time. Now I just run with a friend 30-60 mins ~ 3 times a week. Hopefully the 10K will take < 1hr20min....then we're off out for a meal later on to celebrate.
Hey - I had a bagel with butter for breakfast, followed by a special k cereral bar and some jelly babies about half an hour before I ran! (Any excuse for sweets!)
Good luck
xDxFear is temporary, regret is forever.....:happyhear Baby girl born 27th September - 10 days late!! :happyhear0 -
Bah sorry AF is knocking Sammy
But from what I've read the monitor takes the first month to 'learn your cycle' so you should get a more accurate reading next month.
Dog Lover - what breed of dogs did you have? I reckon you should go for it and get a new pup
I've never owned dogs..only cats. We've got 2 of the stupidest mogs I've ever come across. Simple doesnt even begin to describe them!
Love 'em thoughMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering what strategies you all have, to cope when you see pregnant ladies / find out someone is pregnant etc. This afternoon a girl that I chat to now and again walked past my desk, and I saw a small bump, and on the way back she definitely had a slight waddle. And my reasonable day took a sudden nosedive, I couldn't wait to get out of there and spent the afternoon really upset, on the inside. And then tonight on TV... and daily updates from people on Facebook... the list goes on and it always drags me down to rock bottom again.
So far, I just do my best to look at it in perspective (I have so much to be thankful for, etc etc), and keep busy. How do you cope with it?
Sammy I'm sorry0 -

Hi MV - how are you feeling?
I had two springer spaniels. Where we're moving to there is a neighbour with two spaniels and the owner has just been diagnosed with cancer so I've offered to walk her dogs. I'm hoping that it'll help her and help me too. But I'm sure I'll justify getting a new one ourselves at some stage in the not too distant.
Once I manage to have a bub we're planning on me dropping my hours from work so it should be ok. My mum is near by so will help with both a dog and bubs. I already seem to have convinced myself!

You know what? I'm really fed up with wallowing in my own sh*t at the start of every cycle, so I'm not going to do that this time. I am going to list the positives of not getting my BFP this month:
- I have just started a new job. I am one month closer to getting through my probabtion period and one month closer to decent maternity pay
- In the team that I am working with, one lady has just had a baby and another is pregnant. It gives me more opportunity to find and sit in the pregnant chair
- DH and I seem to have a renewed sex life. Rather than foocusing on BD'ing at only peak times, DH have managed to BD every other day from CD8 to CD 25 (apart from one weekend cos we were at the parents house)
- I can drink plenty of sangria on my Spanish break in June
- I can reach my goal of running 5k non stop
- I can have SK as a BFP buddy, cos I don't like being lonely
My negatives are:
- I really, really, really, really, really want a baby!!!!!!!!!! I'm not getting any younger and I'm scared if it's not happening now, then it never will
SK - Thats good news about the tests. At least it's moving along. Just BD every other day in the meantime, and enjoy not having to remember to temp before you peeYour comment, about us going together, that was almost poetic - like we were going to die together :D
Doglover - ((((((hugs)))))) for you and your furbabies at rainbow bridge. I can only imagine how heartbreaking it must be. I would absolutely die if I didn't have my pooch. I love him so much. He's a dalmation cross - a complete loon but so incredibly loving and cuddly. I am very lucky to have him to go running with. Although when I'm running, he keeps up with minimal effort and is barely above trotting pace, so I can't be going very fast :rotfl:I think you will know when it's time to get another dog. Once you've loved and lost a dog, it leaves a gap in your life that only another doggie can fill. Maybe you could find a rescue who needs a forever home (and a running partner
)
FF - Go you with your cycling :j I don't think I could do it. DH and I hired bikes to cycle round Central Park in NY last year, and you know the saying "it's like riding a bike - you never forget" - well I bloo*dy did, and took me ages to stop it wobbling:eek: Think I'll stick to the spinning bike - it doesn't actually go anywhere!
Debs - I always eat brown pasta the night before a run. Ialways run in the morning, so can only digest a cup of tea at that time of the day!
Giz - What has worked for me before, is having a banana about 30 min prior to running. Doesn't bloat you, but gives you a bit extra energy.
Wow, mammoth post from me. Prob hit submit and I'll lose my connection
Right, I'm going to do the washing up (can someone pls give DH the proverbial kick to fix my dishwasher!), hang out my running clothes to dry, and have a nice early night ready for my 0530 start

Don't give me that old chesnut lady - you know full well it worked for you first time:D
Tbh, the CBFM didn't tell me anything I didn't know already - ie when I OV. I'll keep using it - no point in wasting it!0 -
OK Sammy I think you have answered my question there! Life goes on. Everything enjoy is still there. I will throw myself into other things.0
