Morning all. It's freezing here this morning! DS is toddling round in a huge furry dressing gown, and I'm snuggling up with the cat...

I am still waiting for first AF after implant removal, so no idea where I am. I am lurking and watching all you CBFM girls though, and have everything crossed for you all:)

Hi Ladies. I've just cleared out my drawers and found I had 8 of these left over and Wondered if anyone wanted them? If you would just drop us a PM with your address and I'll post them today. :) They worked fine (the ones I used). But you have to use them on the day of your period.

Good morning all, the sun is shining and life feels good! (Don't know why, it just does) :)

Welcome to SLHSM, hope your stay here is short.

Was tempted by your offer Neneromanova but would only encourage me to test when I shouldn't be, I'm trying to stick to not testing until I'm 5-days late to avoid disappointment. Not been a problem for the last two months, as I've been 5 days early both times!
It doesn't hurt to be optimistic....you can always cry later.

Just looking at all the talk about CBFM and am very tempted but couldn't afford one in the shops. They seem to be from £50 on ebay (some new and sealed ones at about this). Just wondered (as I'm not quite sure how they work) would anyone buy one on ebay?? I'm put off by the idea that someone else's wee would be in a used one, but is that right or does it just touch the test sticks??

I brought mine off Ebay for just under £50 second hand.

The wee only touches one end of the test stick which does not go into the machine. It works a bit like a normal test in that you wee on one end and then it kind of moves across the stick to the area where you would usually get the result this is the end which you then insert into the machine to get your reading.

There is no way you would be touching anyone else’s wee by using a second hand machine. I haven’t had any problems with mine and am pleased I brought it second hand as with the money I saved I brought a box of 20 test sticks also from Ebay which were also a lot cheaper at about £11 for 20.

So made the most of my peak yesterday and dtd last night, even though I caved and did a clearblue digi opk which came up with a negative (wanted to check the accuracy of the monitor).

Am CD14 now and was surprised to see that I only got a high today as I think I should ov either tomorrow or Friday, which would fit in with my usual cycle pattern. I reckon the CBFM will give me a peak again tomorrow (possibly also Friday) and then go to a high for Saturday and back to low. I’m finding it interesting seeing what reading it gives me each day :)

Fairy the monitor should give 2 days at peak then one on high then go back to low again. It's funny how the OPK give different readings....does it detect a different hormone or something?

    Morning Gang :D

Got a really loud-mouthed new French bird joined our dept who sits right next to me..it's only day 2 and already she is doing my nut!

CD24 for me and little m on the monitor has started to flash. Guess this just means I am coming to the end of my cycle (which I am). Have a tampon in my bag at the ready, but dont expect AF to show until Sunday/Monday.

Aaaah so there is no chance it will go back up to peak again? This is my first month of using it so not sure how it would work and if it can go up and down until it gets used to my body etc.

The digi opk didn't give me a smiley face but an empty circle so that was definitely a negative - that was my first time using a digital one I usually use the internet cheapies and (from previous cycles) they would give a line today which is almost as dark as the control line, then a darker line tomorrow and then a dark line Friday morning and a very faint line Friday afternoon.

I forgot to bring my internet cheapie opk to work with me  so will do one of the digis when I get home and see what happens.

I know the CBFM picks up LH hormone (same as an opk) but apparently it also picks up something else too not sure what that is though.

I'm due May 10th - so neck and neck with MV to be the first CBFM gal this month, except that well I'm pretty positive it's not going to be me.

I don't put myself on the testing list because I don't test (decided from the outset would only test if I was over a week late which has never happened).

It also picks up the Oestragon (sp) rise Fairy, which enables it to give you the series of high days as well as peaks when it detects your LH surge.
