hi all wanting to see wicked in ny when visiting in feb prob is the ticket options are for delivery to uk and im panicking they may not arrive in time, would it be ok to list my address as the hotel im staying at for delivery of the tickets or ls there another option, as i cant see any collection options on any ticket websites thanks
Hi I booked wicked tickets through last minute.com and I have printed out the confirmation and I have to just take that with me to box office to pick up the tickets.0 -
Welll, our hotel has completely changed.
Had a look on hotwire this morning and found the doubletree times square for £1062 for 2 suites for 4 nights, so I jumped for it. Stayed there before and it was lovely, but I wasn't over impressed with the crowds outside ( although there is nowt the hotel could do about that).
However, it is a good price, and a lovely hotel and the kids will love the cookies!0 -
;50445565]1. Best/cheapest car service from Newark airport?
2. Best/cheapest place to get Empire State Bldg tickets? Is it worth buying the express tickets (we're going in feb)? 86th floor/102nd floor? What about the ride - I've heard this is rubbish?
3. 9/11 memorial. Any good? Worth visiting?
1 - Best and Cheapest are not the same thing. Cheapest might be illegal, or dangerous, best might be the most expensive, and you're met right outside luggage claim. How about you stick with the ones everyone uses which are either Carmel, or Dial 7.
2 - Best / Cheapest - what is it with wanting 2 things all the time. There isn't a cheap way, just buy online if you really want, sticking to the official site. What time of day are you visiting, first thing in the morning, there i no need for the express tickets. as for the 102nd floor, read this blog post and make your own mind up . http://m4rk.in/kRDvBL
3 - Amazing, very moving. Well worth it!

I've walked past, glanced in, and never bothered. Seems too much of a hassle for food, when I can get great food served to me while I'm having a beer or seven.
its possibly the most confusing place on earth, us brits love a good queue but there are queues of queues in there with no particular function, and i've had better corned beef etc, but as said its an iconic eating place, not least for "that" scene in when harry met sallyLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

What is best for the price, is using public transport. You do get to your destination in near enough the same amount of time, and spend about $10 - $15 per person rather than upwards of $60 for a car service.
Evening - Depends what time. Precision is key to getting the right answer, Sunset - Pre Book, after 9pm - just walk up.

Katz is so so, but its an iconic place, been there once and wouldnt bother again
Agree with you on this - it really was pretty average. However, daughter really wanted to do it so we went. Staff were not that pleasant either. Although even if I had told daughter this before, I think she would still have wanted to go - I suppose if it is something you really want to do, you have to do it.0 -
cooking-mama wrote: »Brilliant thanks gregg1,that is reassuring, must admit The New Yorker is a lovely hotel and its also in a great location, but booking the Salisbury is saving us over £100 a head..We hardly spent any time in our hotel last holiday anyway,Overall as long as its clean and safe il be happy..;)
It was certainly clean and safe. Rooms are a little bit dated but that was not a problem at all. They also had a small kitchen (although they only booked a room) which was useful for heating stuff in the microwave. We had stayed at the Metro once before and found the staff there to be incredibly rude and unhelpful but DD reckoned the Salisbury staff were excellent.
DD and her friend were both 19 when they went last year and most nights they walked back late at night from Times Square to the hotel and never once felt threatened or intimidated. Tell you the truth, I was more relaxed about her being there than I would have been if she were in London!
I mentioned the diner next door to the hotel. Staff were fantastic there. DD and friend both wanted waffles - they don't do em normally (I guess it was more to do with time of day) but they made them some anyway (piled high with blueberries) - can you imagine that happening here?!
Also - the Russian Tea Rooms are over the road from the hotel - well worth taking a look and (to my DD's absolute delight) there was a Magnolia Bakery nearby! All in all , as I said, excellent location.0 -
Just looking for some advice. I am in the process of booking a diy trip to New York for my mum and stepdad. they are doing a 10 night cruise with royal caribbean on the 30th august from New Jersey, so they wanted to tag on a few nights in New York first since they've never been. I have priced flights from Glasgow to JFK with BA and for 2 total cost is £1013. Have got 3 nights pre cruise in the New Yorker for £398 and 1 night in the Pod hotel after the cruise for £92. Can anyone advise if they think these prices are reasonable and also if both hotels are ok..ie are they in close proximity to the main attractions. Also they would be flying into JFK and out of Newark, are both easy to get to and from. I'm assuming that cabs are readily available? My mum is extremely nervous about this trip as she prefers using a travel agent however Ive told her its easier to book it all DIY. If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated. thanks.0
