Anyone know anything about the T3 Lounges at JFK?
Only flying economy so would have to pay for access but my wife would appreciate the faciliies after a long day in NY. Are there showers? Is there a cheaper option to book? Seen $50 on Delta site
Flying JFK to MAN on Delta/KLM, economy, 2030ish, tuesday evening.I spend less than I earn and if I can't afford it I don't buy it. I'm guessing that makes me a money saver.0 -

Hi everyone
I'm planning to go to NY in June with my husband for my 30th. How long would you recommend we go for? I was thinking about spending 4 nights in the city itself, then go somewhere else for the other 3 nights - any recommendations of other places to visit relatively close to NY (we wouldn't mind a short plane ride)
Thanks for your help

First time we went in 2003,we went for 5 nights and wasn't enough. Second time was for a week, which was perfect. We're going again in november and will probably do a week then too.:):happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

Hi, have read thru alot of posts on this thread, wondering if anyone can help, ive been to nyc twice but good few years back now when i was 15/16....hoping to go this coming december 1st/2nd week for 4/5 nights...
is it wiser do people find and cheaper to book it as a package or do flights and hotel seperate...ive found flights £400-495 with virgin or AA but hotel prices are very high near times sq.
anyone recommend any tips?
thanks x
I can never understand why people want to stay in TS when you have a 24 hour subway. You pay thru the nose for TS acc,and usually get less for your money. We usuall stay in Queens. The subway is 5 mins from the hotel and 15 into TS. Its so much cheaper, just get a metrocard9weekly one is about $30,correct me if i'm wrong):happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

New York is a city you can always go back to so it's not really worth trying to cram everything into a single trip. Sometimes less is more. I've been there 3 times and haven't got around to seeing the Statue of Liberty yet. My thinking is that I'm sure to go back and the old girl is unlikley to be moving.
Get an Open Jaw ticket on BA or Virgin flying into NY and out of Boston - it will be no more expensive than a normal return. 4 night in NYC and 3 in Boston would make a great trip. For the journey between them it's a lot less hassle to get the train than to fly.0 -
I am considering NY at the end of the month - Virgin are offering flights for £314 per adult return - from Heathrow out to Newark returning from JFK. Is it better to do a flight and hotel or would I get a better deal as a package.0

is it wiser do people find and cheaper to book it as a package or do flights and hotel seperateDont wanna be rude but you can answer this question yourself by pricing up packages too suit your needs then comparing the price with seperate booking option. Personaly i use expedia for my packages as i cant be bothered with faffing around.macro_duck wrote: »I am considering NY at the end of the month - Virgin are offering flights for £314 per adult return - from Heathrow out to Newark returning from JFK. How would you feel if I said package is the way to go and then found out you could save £500 booking it seperately or vice versa, take responibility and have a look around and get a priceLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
There are some verty good hotel+flight deals from BA at the moment as part of their sale. I've seen some where the combined price is less than the cost of the flight alone so you are getting the hotel for a negative amount.0

i already have 'taken responsibility' thanks for the past week and came on here as last resort to then get people's opinions.
Have found package deal is £700 flights and hotel, compared to seperate flights and hotel which is nearing a grand.
thanks anyway, i shall continue reading to the start of the thread for anymore tips0 -

Just wondering what the best was of travelling from the airport to our hotel will be?! Any help will be much appreciated
TIA x
Cheapest way is by subway. $7 eac (may have gone up in price since i was last there) to anywhere in manhattan. You have to catch the AirTrain from the airport to the Howard Beech subway stop and then get on the 'A' train into the city - might have to change depending on where you are staying.
I suppose it depends if by 'best' you mean cheapest or the less hassle option.0
