1p/minute with 18185 and about half a dozen 0844 dial-through providers (see the MSE International Callchecker).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • Well 3 emails so far and no response. Luckily I live near the head office so I will hand deliver my cancellation letter. It just goes to show that the customer service "est merde"
  • Its strange my mum has been using talk talk since they first come out no problems whats so ever, so i thought free calls ideal i'll give them ago...what a pile of s**t. They were charging me over £60 a month, so i cancelled it as they were not helping. They sent my bill to a debt collector without giving me chance to pay them, so when i rung this debt collector they said it was down to talk talk so for 18months i had no one to pay and now its turned up again with some other company wantin a stupid £40 but no one taking the money but threatening court....DONT GO NEAR TALK TALK

TalkTalk are just another supplier, you have to manage suppliers, agree a spec and MAKE A WRITTEN RECORD.

TT were in breach of contract on two of my lines, I sent them the contemporaneous (ohhhhh, long word) notes of the contract agreement, I now have what I agreed to (and a little bit more), so thanks TT, although it's a PITA to have to keep reminding TT what the contract agreement is.

So that's the problem solved until next month then ;)
