Good point, bad advice can easily cost money/time

Sometimes its not always that simple to convey a problem or indeed correct a problem unless you have pc in front of you, although granted alot of problems are actually caused by software or for that matter viruses/malware

It really is that simple. By the way the forum wouldnt change either...would it. All pros could still offer support. Surely that will save money in the end

Humble appologies for the spelling mistake, I know you have never made one. Anything constructive to add?

Obviously you cannot operate a basic spell checker, so that would immediately cast doubts on any other computer skills that you may have.:)

Would it, Inactive? It's a little sad for the forum attacking a spelling mistake when intentions were only good. Its 2:10 am, my spare time and I am here trying to be constructive and help others.

I suggest there are better things to attack...such as the initial advise that cost a forum user his data. Possibly a little more significant in result too.

Well think about it, I wasn't attacking you for your spelling mistakes, I was just pointing out that those that purport to be qualified need to demonstrate their skills in a professional way.

Anyway, going back to your OP, it will not work, how on earth would MSE quantify the alleged skills of so many people that give help on here?

Many without qualifications also know a lot more than many with, I suspect.

Those asking for help just need to realise that not all answers will be accurate.

I have no intention of thinking about anything you were pointing out. I believe it was petty.

On your contribution at last, I see your point. mCse was an example of many qualifications. There are several qualifications that techs could offer and if only registered techs could answer, much forum confusion such as comments on spelling mistakes could be removed naturally. In short there would only be techs advising and therefore the advise can be debated the same as it is currently.

How can you say that wouldn’t be better than the current system

    You cant possible say that.

The techie forum is for asking for help, sharing problem which people might have had in the past and can offer advice on how to fix it.

It would be almost impossible to quantify the validity of members claiming to be qualified, members that are highly competent, but not qualified would be barred from helping.

You arrived here yesterday, and immediately want to change something that has been overall, highly successful for a good few years, I would just forget it.
    :)
  • Nothing wrong with it as it is now its been like this for donkeys and joined yesterday and want to change things

It would be neigh impossible to vet. People ask for advice, people give advice freely and free, its up to the person asking for the advice whether to take it or not, the same applies to all over parts of mse and not just hardware
