Turnbull, you always seemed quite "bearish" on a certain other forum. Saying that a lot on there seemed to think houseprices can only go up.

He is quite bearish. Just realistic as to what is happening in the market. He is clear about not liking it though.

Just goes to show how shockingly out of touch with reality the hpc crowd are.

Let's face it they troll you and you troll them back and it develops into an unholy escalation and clutters up the forum as neither party wants to back down.

    Banning was sensible.

Says the man who then launches right into yet another Hamish attack.
I think you need to get over your victim complex and stop obsessing about a site that has banned you and move on with your life mate.

Do you obsess about ex-girlfriends too :)

    Pot, Kettle, etc.....

By the way, an unhealthy percentage of your posts are devoted to insulting me, are you this much of a stalker in real life too?

  • Got it in one!
Bulls that present an argument are not thrown out of HPC. It's just some trolls were ruining the argument both for and against the house price crash - and a certain one here who is continuing to do the same.
House prices in NI are down 40% from peak and our market here is being stalled by people in denial. Loads of furniture and home supply businesses have gone to the wall and unemployment is rising. Things are bleak!!!!
In these circumstances the only people trying to talk the market up are those with vested interests.
Now I own a house, but I have no vested interest to talk the market either up or down. Greed got us here and it will take years for this market to correct.

Hamish, in all seriousness how do you see what I said as a personal attack on you.

It was just an observation on the way the debates escalated on HPC.

Previous posts may have been, but that was just another ad hominem attack on Hamish.

You are guilty of what you accuse others of.

Hamish, it was a statement of fact not an attack. If it was an attack I would hardly have used the term "mate" which is a conciliatory one and appended a smiley to the comment.

I think your over reaction to it proves me right. You really need to get over HPC and their banning of you. I am just appealing to you to see that this endless bashing of it and obsession with it does no good at all. It is not like it is going to bother any of them over there after all, it may give them a laugh after all their tedious "Look at this idiot in debt on MSE" threads show they lurk here and show their more unpleasant side.

I certainly did used to engage in ad hominems a few months ago, Chucky called me out on it and I agreed to bite my lip. Chucky was right. I do not bother now.

You can have the last word on this if you want. I have said my piece and feel the debate will just go round in circles from here.

I love HPC - it completely vindicates my decision to STR! The one sided, and sometimes factual, analysis has convinced me that house prices are certain to drop 70% by this Christmas. (or was that last Christmas ?)

Re-registered and posted this quote from George Osbourne in today's Times.
The overriding objective of fiscal policy must be to provide the credible deficit reduction plan that allows the Bank of England to keep mortgage rates as low as possible for as long as possible. That will do more to sustain a recovery than anything else.

Bottom line, if you participate in a community of single issue nutters, you're likely to encounter nutty behaviour at some point.

I am indeed. I also happen to be right most of the time.

you really do have delusions of grandure.

Reality check. You live in a 3 bed terrace in Aberdeen, and clearly have no life outside your 'job' and this forum.
