          1. I have done the yummiest looking millionaire shortbread i have ever seen(even if i say so myself!!):rotfl:

I am so chuffed as it was my first attempt and although i used crushed shortbread for the base, i made the caramel with evaporated milk, sugar and butter and i was so worried i might have overdone it but it has turned out great, i just need to think of some more recipes to use up those darn easter eggs now:mad:

I'm back at work today :( but yesterday I baked fruit scones (sultanas) with sugared-crispy tops, homemade blueberry jam to go with the scones and whipped cream and a lemon tart (best pastry I've made yet :-)
I also fixed the broken handle on my back door. It was a good day.

I haven't read or posted on this thread for ages, for some reason - it's always such a nice thread to read through (although possibly not just before lunch - if you listen, you might be able to hear my stomach rumbling :o).

Over the Easter weekend I made a garlic and herb focaccia (from a packet mix, but pretty tasty with a few additions), and a pear and almond cake. The cake has turned out seriously stodgy, but with the addition of ice cream it's not a bad pear pudding - very OS! :D

Ooh, just remembered - I also made a hot cross bun loaf. That didn't turn out too well, though, which is probably why it had slipped my mind - all the fruit sunk to the bottom and formed a caramelised layer - it wasn't entirely unpleasant, just not at all what I intended.
Back after a very long break!
