Eggless fairy cakes for my allergic grandaughter - they have bicarb in them and I can taste it but by the time I've slathered them with pink icing and silver bobbles I doubt if anyone else will spot it. I was amazed when they rose quite well ! Then I marzipanned and blowtorched my simnel cake and OH spent an hour fiddling with chicks and yellow ribbons and stuff to decorate it and hasn't made a bad job of it (and at least he did something).0

A batch of vanilla cupcakes from the Hummingbird Bakery book. First time I've tried their cupcakes (although I've made cookies and other stuff from the book) and the quantities lie! It says 12 but you only get 6 if you're using the muffin-sized cases they recommend. They smell and look good though and I'm going to pipe some pink vanilla buttercream and put a little Easter chick on each one.0

A white chocolate sponge cake - for my Easter cake- it is a total disaster, it has sunk in the middle and I didn't even open the oven door , and also looks like the middle isn't cooked even though the top is browned - I'll have to try another one later0
