I have some dough proving at the moment, as I am going to attempt to make "Noon Lavash", a Persian flatbread. A slightly different mix to my normal doughs, as this one contains 2 tablespoons of yogurt.
I will also roll the dough out very thin, and then brush it with water and sprinkle sesame seeds on just before baking.

I've just made yummy Apple Pie in my Redmond multicooker. It took for me just 1 hour plus 10 min. to prepare ingredients.0

A bit like the "curates egg" - good in parts.
I made enough for four flatbread, however we only have a wooden rolling pin, and even with a dusting of flour the dough kept sticking.
So, I ended up teasing one flatbread with my hands, trying to stretch it enough, and it looked absolute rubbish. Then I took another and rolled it out to a thicker oblong shape. I gave up on the other two pieces and simply turned them into a French ficelle shape.
Not a disaster though, because I got the oven preheated to about 250C (oven thermometer - genuine hotter than ever before), and put the oblong one in first.
After just five minutes, it had started to balloon up, and I left it in for 15 minutes. It was too brown (not burnt though), but the OH tasted it and said it was really good.
I then put the ficelles in for 20 minutes, and they came out feeling really light, and with a super crust - we will try them tomorrow for breakfast.
The last flatbread went in, and I decided that 10 minutes would be enough.
Sure enough, the edges were browned and it was still flattish in the centre, with all the sesame seeds golden. The OH said that it was as good as the ones in the restaurants on the Edgeware Road, so praise indeed:D
I should add that the one which ballooned up, was like a pitta bread. It was very light, with a thin crust and a large cavity inside.
All in all, not a complete success, but everything is edible, so not a failure.:)0 -
A few days ago I made some lovely pumpkin and cream cheese muffins, looked and tasted amazing, only problem is I want to make more and can't find anymore tinned pumpkin in the shops. I'll have to stock up next time I find some0

I could but I looked in four shops on Monday and no sign of any fresh pumpkins in any of them, I'll know for next year to buy a few to puree and freeze but no good for right now. I've even grown them previous years but didn't bother this year as I've never found a pumpkin recipe I like. Typical I find one now.0 -

Something to look forward to for next year! But in principle Butternut Squash is a pumpkin and does taste very much the same to me...just an idea
I've got the usual bread dough in the machine. Maybe I'll be adventurous and turn half of that into a Focaccia or rools...

I'm in the middle of making a chocolate Oreo cake and a strawberry cheesecake. Had to buy double the amount of Oreos though as I can't stop eating them :rotfl:'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0

:rotfl:they never last long enough here to make a cake from :rotfl:don't know if you shop at Aldi's but their version called Borneoare cheaper! Reviews from others are mixed on them but we like them well enough :cool:.

I wish there was Aldi near me, they seem few and far between in London. Shame though, I love the coffee covered chocolate beans in there.
