Yes! It's sweet mince meat made from mixed dried fruit and suet. I've never made my own, I always use shop brand and add a bit of brandy, then I put a teeny bit of chocolate in to each pie as well. It makes them subtly more delicious without being chocolatey.Norn Iron Club member 4730

Yesterday I made a very large slab of vanilla sponge cake. I cut hearts out of it to make a mini heart shaped Victoria sponge for my husband's birthday (two hearts sandwiched together with raspberry jam and topped with piped buttercream stars) and one for me. The rest of the cake I sliced into fingers and chucked in the freezer ready for my Christmas trifle.
I feel quite pleased with myself for having killed two birds with one stone; got round the problem of needing to make hubby a birthday cake but not wanting a giant cake when there are only two of us, and also getting my cake ready for the trifle0 -
have some bread pudding in the oven as i type - it's extra mixed-spicy as the top fell off of the jar as I was tapping it in0
