I'm waiting for my slimming world cake pops to bake, and then need to figure out what to decorate them as.
I'm thinking of doing a trial run of a farmyard themed party I've offered to bake some cakes for.0 -

Ha ha - I'd be too embarassed!
turned out all right but a bit crumbly, probably because I used wholemeal flour. In fact the top looked cracked like a baked cheesecake (or like one of mine anyway!)
Also, it was too sweet but would definitely make again, just tweek the ingredients; less sugar & more spice. Having said that, I wouldn't make it as a cake but as a pudding.;)
Would be great fun for small children0 -

Are you thinking pudding because of texture? Do you put a topping on? So wanted to see a photo.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Today I made 6 little plum tarts/pies with plums donated by father in law.
I accidentally made savoury pastry but it turned out fairly ok considering I never ever make pies/tarts! :jSimplify and then Simplify some more!0 -
I've made sourdough bread and a rhubarb and strawberry crumble. Very fattening but rather tasty and enough filling left over for breakfast with Greek yoghurt tomorrow.0

yes, it was more of a dense sponge. Actually, everyone had another square but made up custard to go with it.
Think I've discovered why the top cracked - apparently my daughter didn't realise it was in the oven & flashed the temp up higher & then opened the door to put in some chicken.0
