I've got a batch of chocolate orange brownies in the oven. Inspired by my sister's batch of brownies at the weekend, she made chocolate brownies from a recipe which called for the zest and juice of an orange (she didn't have any so she put half a glass of orange juice in) and she also didn't have any normal chocolate so she used a bar of chilli chocolate and they were delicious!
I was tempted to add chilli powder in my chocolate orange brownies to get the same effect but was nervous to ruin the batch so have chickened out!0 -

Well, first the good news. My dil gave me her grandma's kenwood chef and attachments last night. Brilliant. Even got an ice cream maker with it.
So got up nice and early this morning, made 1 1/2 doz coconut buns, and used dough hook to make Lorraine Pascal's (Baking made easy) Doris Grant Loaf. It rose lovely on it's tray. Put sunflower and poppy seeds on top, and popped into the oven.
and the bad news...10 mins later - no sound of a fan!! the oven is kabbut. So I had to throw the loaf in the bin as not cooked enough to eat.0 -
