Silly really, as I know most of the blokes there, and they are a sound crowd.
Just very worried that I won't fit in, or won't be liked..
Always felt like that. Probably why I drank!
Am determined to face FEAR though - False Evidence Appearing Real and Face Everything And Recover :-)
Feel like I'm stepping out into the
big scary World again, but this time, sober. A strange feeling!
Sleep well guys.

These feelings I totally identify with. From going into a meeting, or a pub, or a birthday party, I was nervous. That's why I thought having a drink helped. It got me through that initial fear, and also I had something to do (drink) and somewhere to go (the bar)
I felt (and still often do) that everyone was watching me, and judging me. Thus I was hyper-sensitive. I can come across as quite confident, but inside I would be quaking. I hated the thought of not fitting in or not being liked.
I am better at dealing with it now (though it hasn't gone away entirely). It is none of my business what other people think of me, and I have to remember that. As long as I keep my side of the street clean and tidy, that's all I can do. Other people's feelings and thoughts are not my responsibility
I found I get better at it with practice. Good luck!
PS - False Evidence Appearing Real and Face Everything And Recover are some of the thigs I have heard in meetings. Not all sayings are useless0 -

I may have said this before but my Granddad told me never to worry what other people were thinking about you, because they are usually too busy worrying what everyone else thinks of them.DC.
