Waves :) at new house - af here :) ds has 6 pals staying later.

Dd and I are in hiding! X

If I were you my Dear Fay I would move back to the other house :rotfl::rotfl: Seriously Sweetheart I hope this house is everything you want it to be and more. It sounds really fab and its not far from the sea ..............Budgie goes all whistful for a moment. Hugs matey and I hope your evening goes well. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Budgie has been busy flying and grotspotting today :p I have also been batch cooking and freezing.:D My oh my I am feeling quite pleased to be on top of things.

Yesterday I went to visit my Grandma, she is 94 on Wednesday, I was ok until she said: "I have loved you ___" I was in floods, my Mum had to say I had a cold. I know it sounded silly when I posted before that she was looking her age. But she never has you see, until now. Its an awful realisation that we will all one day be old and probably not able to do much for ourselves. Budgie felt very sad yesterday.

Mr Budgie has also been up and he doesn't look to well either, I did him something to eat, as I don't think he is eating properly. I have said he can come home if he wants to, but he's not for now. I don't think his head is too good of a place at the moment.

So I hope all my very dear friends are ok? Sparkles sweetheart, I am not in this weekends challenge as have some red wine, but please add me to the Mon - Thurs challenge. I shall be happy to not drink in the week, but at weekends as Fay posted before it is like you have earned it. Sorry but you know what I mean.

    Love ya
    Budgie

P.s Just Helping I am so sorry but I am not sure re: drug dependancy? Perhaps google it and I am sure it will bring up lots of helpful sites. Also search on Mse forums, I really do feel for you it must be such a shock and a tremendous worry. The positive thing is that your son has now admitted his problem, as with everything this is the most important step. He knows he needs help and is now reaching out. I hope you and your son get the help that you need, start by visiting you Gp who I am sure can put you in touch with some help and support Take Care and Stay Strong (())xxxxx
Cherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home :)

I'm definitely hearing the bells tonight and don't know what to do with myself. I'm hoping I will hear from DS2 soon that I have to pick him up later and then that takes the choice away IYKWIM.

  • Thanks for all your kind words, I'll see what we can find out from the GP Monday, private is simply out of the question as he doesn't have the funds nor are we in a position to pay for him. I'm sure some may think that in a similar position they would find it from somewhere but it is just not possible for us.
    Thanks again.

Just Helping, hello and welcome

What an incredible shock for you and how worried you must be. How old is your son?

Although it's an awful situation, in my humble opinion, I am so pleased that he realises he has a problem (this is the first and hardest hurdle), and I am so pleased that it is you that he felt he could open up to.

Firstly, as Sparkles as said, your GP will be able to advise of local organisations that can help, depending on where you live there are usually Local Authority resources you can sign up with i.e. drug and alcohol counsellors etc. But you will find with the Local Authority and GP's there are waiting times for referal and to actually get on their books for treatment. I would recommend researching online, probably the NA (narcotics anonymous) or something similar would be a good place to start. Email them or ring them and see if they have numbers of places you could ring locally that could help you quicker.

Bless you both and I hope and pray you both get the help you need.

Don't worry about this being a drinking thread, we tend to talk about everything else but drinking anyway :rotfl:

Please stick around and let us know what happens xxx

Spurs won happy-smiley-8815.gif so the day has gone well, particularly as OH went to watch it down the pub and now has decided to stay out and celebrate.....lots of catching up with soaps and Come Dine With Me has been on the cards this evening :D I have also cooked an amazing Thai chicken with chillies and basil for tea so very happy.

It's my DD1's 18th birthday today and been very nostalgic after her asking me about what I was doing this time 18 years ago. She was 2 months premature, born at 30 weeks, and was in hospital for 4 months as there were so many complications. 18 years ago she was born today at 8.45am and I still hadn't even seen her, didn't see her till she was over 24 hours old as she was born by emergency caeserean (sp?) and she was in a totally different building to me on life support, kept having my mum and OH telling me how beautiful she was and the nurses gave me a polaroid photo of her so I could see what she looks like. The consultant took me into the 'smoking room' (can't believe we had those in hospitals then!) and pulled me aside and said that it was unlikely she would live because her lungs hadn't developed and other infections were happening. Here I am 18 years later, she's just rung me, she's out on the town with her mates tonight, going up to Canary Wharf with a little black dress on and killer heels

    God am I old.

Hi thanks I will try NA it hadn't come up in my searches which prompted mostly fee centres. He is 32 and not all the facts are out yet but it appears his substances of choice were cocaine and meow meow, he has not displayed any of the classic symptoms in fact nothing apparent in his behaviour or health to give the game away so to speak. It is indeed a shock I'm still not quite sure how much of a shock myself as I obviously haven't had time to digest things yet as he is here now discussing things with us.
    Thanks again.

It is imperative that he seeks help as soon as possible. I don't (thankfully) know too much about narcotics but I do know that cocaine is something that can get you into trouble after using for a period of time but I think that the meow drug is a little like ecstasy and can be very dangerous just with 1 use. I am very 'lucky' in that I only tried ecstasy once and I didn't like the effect, this was 20 years ago but I have friends that have stuck with it and it is worrying.

Please let us know how you get on xx
