Bismark - this really struck home to me and is something I need to keep in the front of my mind.

I find all the posts on this thread inspirational - and especially the long-term giver-uppers.

    Thanks to all!

    # 23 for me after last night Shaggy so am really pleased to have hit my enhanced target early - unsure about tonight as is the first evening that OH and I have had off together for over a week and tomorrow is our only day off together for well forever :( soooooo do I have a few drinks which would be nice and a 'normal' thing to do, however running the risk of enjoying it too much, drinking to excess and then feeling cr*p all day tomorrow and ruining our precious free time together? I know I'm the only one that can answer this but it's at these moments where I wonder if giving up completely isn't a clearer option as then - well there wouldn't be an option iyswim!

Loving all the love on this thread at the mo - appreciate I'm perhaps a bit biased but this has to be amongst the most supportive, caring and honest forums on this site x

  • THE A.A. PROMISES
If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through. We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. That feeling of uselessness and selfpity will disappear. We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows. Self-seeking will slip away. Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change. Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us. We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us. We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.
Are these extravagant promises? We think not. They are being fulfilled among us—sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if we work for them.

Hitting the thanks button wasn't really enough.

Thank you. I'm going to write that out and stick it somewhere.

    Hello everyone!!:hello: I'm back!

Had an um.....interesting...time! Think OH didn't enjoy himself so much for various reasons but we had a laugh and Piglet had a whale of a time. Not the best break we've ever had but could have been a lot worse (for instance, the railway track that ran within 20ft of our caravan could have been running 24hours instead of the 6am-midnight it DID run:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:). I find I'm a bit more philosphical nowadays and take things as they come, but OH does get stressed if everything isn't EXACTLY as he wants it!!:rotfl:

And I have a confession. I did drink whilst away. BUT...and its a BIG but....I only drank when we were out in the evening and I did moderate it. I didn't get drunk. I was very proud of myself as, historically, I've rushed out and bought a box of wine when we're away, using it as an excuse to get blotto. This time was SO different. I enjoyed what I was drinking rather than concentrating on the quantity!

SO....WBF please could you add me to your april list. I would like to go for 20 please.

    Off to catch up....

    Miss P
    xx
