hi everyone, i've been lurking and watching but haven't posted on here yet.
I just wanted to post because the HALT thing mentioned a few posts up has really hit home for me.
I was supposed to be on an alcohol free month but my resolve didnt last much beyond the first week. I have drunk less than normal and stretched a bottle of wine over 3 nights rather than 2 on a few occasions, but I am a little disappointed in myself.
there are reasons for it but they arent really excuses, I will try harder in February. I think I will find it easier when my job situation settles.
But tonight I will be alcohol free, had a really bad HALT night last night and don't want to feel like that again, plus I need to be firing on all cylinders tomorrow.
this is a brilliant thread and has helped me get my head around a few things to do with my alcohol consumption so thank you everyone
and good luck to you all. 0 -

Hello Little_h :T
I'm championing the bit for February and trying to keep a weathered eye on this lot (;)) so if you fancy joining us the the FEB AF FEST (yup its a FAFF) then why not think about how much you'd like to cut down and have some AFD's under your belt next month and I can add you to my list if you like
The HALT thing is often mentioned by those wise chaps who've been there and bought the t-shirt.

Just take things one day at a time - tonight there will be a few of us around if you've the inclination to join our Friday chat-a-thon.
I'm going to make a green chilli king prawn curry - and gorge myself on delights until I am the size of a blue whale. (it will still be less calories than a bottle of wine)
My calorie consumption has gone down by 7 days*600 calories in a bottle of wine = 4200 calories a week - or.........
21 AFD's in January = 12,600 calories  saved
(??is that right??)
21 afd/s - reduction of on average 9 units a day - thats a lot of units.
WAves to Jo and Lurks!
