Others are less concerned with what you are doing than you think. They are more interested in what they have themselves. If you were to suggest they did the same then yes I think there would be a problem. Otherwise, I think just go for it!!

Agreed and good post. You don't need an excuse
My alcoholism told me that I had to drink to fit in and enjoy myself and feel comfortable. That is baloney of course (though I listened to it at the time)0 -
Can totally relate to it being about fitting in.
Going along and drinking what everyone else was, was easier than standing apart from the crowd and not getting wrapped up in all that. But now I have the confidence to do my own thing and let others choose their own path.
I already feel so much better for it. I can't remember the last time I went through a week where I didn't go over my limit, but last week I did it and was sensible so I'll take each week at a time0 -
Thanks for the kind comments people. :A I won't leave this thread as I do think it's helping me have more AF days than I would without it.
I am feeling like carp today. I was up half the night and my hands were really shaking this morning. I looked in the fridge today and my DH had brought me home a bottle of wine that his Mum gave me. Very helpful of him considering the conversation I had about my drinking last night.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Hello all
Feeling very upset. Mum had just rung to say their remaining dog (some of you remember their other dog dying last year) is very ill and nothing can be done. He is coming home from vets later but they don't expect him to last long. I feel awful for my parents as my Dad flew out of the country this morning on a business trip and won't be back till wednesday. I know they were expecting it to a certain extent (they felt he had something seriously wrong and he is 12 years old) but it doesn't make it any easier. Why is life so sh*te sometimes?
Piglet thinks I'm mad as I keep crying.

Sorry to hear that Miss Piggy. The only time I can recall my father crying was when his dog died.
Finally got the wife to agree we weren't all that good with ddrink at the weekend and she's agreed to go the rest of March without a drink. I thought it was a pretty positive step all round.
She's also started to see that we were ina bad spiaral with debt too. We've cancelled our DD's on the CC's and Loans and will wait to see what the banks say. I have told them, pretty much, that they cannot take what isn't there and that we're very serious about addressing our debt, hence: House #2 went on the market at the weekend too, so we should, hopefully, be in a better place to sort ourselves out this year. We've also agreed to go without credit as much as we can in the near to medium term.
It was a good weekend, spent sober. Happy days. I am feeling very positive just now, more so than I have for years: I wonder how long that will last!Looking for a fresh start without credit.0 -

Thanks guys. I've calmed down a bit now. Mum and Dad have always had dogs as far back into my childhood as I can remember. Once Chance goes they'll be dogless for the first time in about 30 years. And he's such a lovely dog - a typical silly greyhound.
Sorry to ramble on:(**Keep Calm and Carry On!**0 -
Hugs Miss P. Losing pets is horrible.
Well done MoD...sounds like you've made a storming start to a 'new life'
I've just been v.bad and ordered £20 worth of card making supplies. I've always toyed with the idea of doing the rounds of the craft fairs selling my wares. trouble is i'm also a bit of a 5 minute wonder girl so lets see if I actually get any cards made.
Also toying with the idea of renting my house out and renting another. I so wnat to live somewhere more rural...near to here...but out in the sticks a bit more. Can't afford to buy the kind of thing i want but with rental from here might be able to stretch to renting somewhere. Then have to take into consideration DS's school friends etc. Any advice tio make my little brain work it all out would be gratefully recieved.LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -

MoD - Good Luck selling the house :TWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
