Aw FUAS....you have my sympathy. My nephew used to use camomile tea bags for his eczema...just pop a couple in the bath water. Would one 'brewed' in a bowl of water then wiped on your face help maybe?

I might try this tomorrow and see if anyone has a teabag at work I can use

I know that if i had booze in the house right now I would open my neck and down it until it was all gone. Maybe thats part of the irritation that the feeling of wanting a drink, whilst not constant, can rear it's head at any time.

I had a similar feeling too when I took the dog for a walk - and walked past the pub and thought - it's time for a drink, it's that time of day. Funny how the time and the light of the day can trigger off a thought about drinking. Think I was thirsty and I have drunk half a bottle of orange juice, 3/4 bottle of fizzy pop and a full bottle of fizzy pomegrante. Plus I don't feel full of liquid so I must be very dehydrated indeed.

Anyway not tempted now - must have just been a thought that popped into my head. Probably have a hot choccie or tea in a little while and try and get warm

Hi Marru - will check out the forums and see the comments about Cesar M - but will report back next weekend. FUAS - I know exactly what you mean -on the way back from a long dog walk this evening I felt a strong urge for a glass of wine cos that was what I always used to do on a Sunday afternoon - come back, put my feet up and have a large glass of wine. It's just habit but it's not easy to ignore that urge is it.

I got MAD in the bath so am now happy to declare that's 5 for me :D

It's strange but it is red wine I crave, not alcohol. I have enough alcohol in my flat to keep a small party going for a few hours (would have to be a small party as Bear Towers is a bit on the small side ;)) I can quite happily ignore it, I just really want some red wine :o

    Well done on being AF

I used to think I wanted the taste of beer or wine, but if truth be told, I wanted the alcohol.
If there was no alcohol in Red Wine, I would not have had the cravings for it.
I now know that is my alcoholism - it lies to me and tells me I want a drink for the taste. It tells me nonsense to get me to drink.
I don't hear it much any more, and thankfully I have no cravings today.

I know how you felt then - I would often not have a strong craving to drink but a passing thought. Especially at witching hour.
That's my alcoholism - it wants me to drink.
I have changed sufficiently so this rarely happens now (for today at least)
I now know that if I had to control my drinking, then it was out of control. And for many people with out of control drinking, that is alcoholism.
Admitting it to myself was the first step in recovery. I didn't have to fight it any more.

    Hi everyone,

Bis, just wanted to say very well done for dealing with your wobble. I imagine the further down the AF route we go the more complacent we can get and then it sneaks back in there with ideas about just the one so I'm impressed you managed to stay strong. Well done to all the other MAD people on here too.

Well I managed a MAD friday night and a MAD Sunday. Drank too much Saturday but I was really tempted to break my alternate days rule on Friday and still managed to stick to it so I'm forgiving myself for the excess of Sat night.

Definitely noticing the effect on my stomach that too much booze has, really much worse from the cider I drank. Followed by a bourbon cocktail. Good mixing choice. And getting in at 2.30am hasn't done wonders for me today either, but I didn't drink today to get over my hangover like I used to.

    Sleep well everyone.

That's 4/15 for me please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Morning all, no update for me thank you Shaggy.

Hoping this week is going to be uneventful compared to last, got the funeral on Weds which is going to be awful, it's a full on Greek Orthodox burial which is all in Greek and very long apparently.

Gotta dash and get ready for work, speak to you all later x
