No need, I remember Vimto. I used to love it but haven't had it for years. I had a Purple Ronnie tshirt :o! I wonder if they do a low cal version? I'll have to look. Thanks Lurkio.

    They do, yes. :)

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D
  • Thanks Fay, I like the sound of the presse things and hot chocolate yum.
Graeme you are quite right, I shall look for 'alternatives'. Lime cordial and fizzy water sounds good.
Whether I shall miss out the wine aisle at Mr S is debatable but I shall certainly be looking in the cordials and squash area.
    Thanks

I go shopping at a time when I am less likely to go into wine aisle.

Ie I dont think of it in the mornings/lunchtime so I go shopping then, and tend to avoid the supermarket later during wine o' clock - its really helped me

A small change which has really worked!

    Afternoon all!

I'm a bit of a sporadic poster lately...sorry about that! Lifes busy and Piglet a bit of a handful lately so don't get much time for the old pooter!

Read back over a few posts but not really caught up I'm afraid.

I'm with GC on the substitute thing. Doesn't work for me at all. I find I'm drinking coffee and squash but not in huge amounts.

Me, Mr P and Piglet are off away for a few days at end of month (Sun Holiday doodah) and Mr P suggested I just have a lager and lime with my dinners or something. My immediate reaction was "why"??? I haven't had a drink since the beginning of the year and I really don't want one. And if I don't see the point of having "one" then I can't really like the taste can I?

Sorry to ramble...lot of deep thinking (well...as deep as it ever gets with me!;)) going on in my head lately.

Also, on the plus side...I've rediscovered TIME. I'm finding time for sewing, reading, cooking etc now that I'm not drinking in the evenings and don't have headaches/dodgy tums in the morning. Today me and Piglet have made cheese and tomato puff pastries, twinks hob nobs and cardamom muffins! Not drinking not exactly doing wonders for my waistline at the moment:o.

Shaggy - hope you don't mind if I don't set a target for March. I'm finding it better if I'm not constantly thinking about what day I'm on.

    Miss P
    xx

Morning everyone. Just checking in to report another MAD day please Shaggy; that's 2/10
I found it a bit more difficult yesterday and wasn't sure what to substitute for the booze. Could I ask what you all drink during the evening so I can stock up? I'm not really a pop person and endless tea is a bit boring.

I found this a problem when I started out, always needing a glass of something in my hand. I'm not really a pop person either, don't really like anything sweet. Lime and soda is good as is low cal tonic (with ice and slice if you want) but mostly I had plain water. I also have a low cal chocolate most AF nights before bed.

Over time, this need has diminished and I have water with my meal, maybe a cup of tea mid evening and then the chocolate. I did however make sure we only bought in low cal soft drinks at Christmas for drivers/non-drinkers so that I was happy to finish it up (very MSE) through January and February.

 Miss P. Good to see you. Enjoy your holiday when it comes (where are you off to?) and you can always drink juice (fresh orange nom nom) or tonic if you don't fancy alcohol. Isn't it lovely to see the sun -soon you and Piglet will be able to do less fattening things with your time:D What've you been sewing? Sorry to be so nosey :obut we've missed you and it's good to catch up on your news.

    Hi Maman!!:hello:

We are only going down to Poole - a Haven site near there. Its a friday to Monday thing and will prob spend most of weekend just using park facilities...pool etc. Just makes a bit of a break from the norm. (and they have a spa...jacuzzi's and sauna...bliss!)

I've started back doing cross-stitch. Finished off a large Betty Boop for Stepdaughters room and have started on a picture of a car for Piglets room. I find it quite relaxing. Used to do loads of it years ago but got out of the way of it lately...its one thing impossible to do whilst tipsy!

I've missed everyone too! Determined to try and get on here once a day to keep up!

Sound great Miss P, I'm sure you'll have a lovely time. I used to do a lot of sewing too before alcohol became my favourite pastime. Fay's been busy crocheting. Hopefully I'll be inspired! Lovely to hear from you, don't be a stranger.

Oh and well done on AF! We've stopped FAFFing about and we're a seriously MAD lot on here this month:D
