One more for me please, Doc

Well done WBF for hitting target :T :T :T

Thank you you lot, you're lovely

:p Now he knows it was about him. And Fay too. And everyone.:)

Hugs to Jo and Honeybear, hope you are both warm and snuggly and have a great day today.

I put in another AFD today so that's 15/14. I'm leaving the wagon tonight but will deffo be back on for Friday.

My cold feels better, I had a great night's sleep the night before last but woke up at 5 this morning even when I was sober last night. I always feel cheated if I have insomnia but haven't been drinking. Took me ages to see the link between my 3am pacing sessions and booze, talk about large rivers in Africa. And I've just realised typing this that after 5am is a couple of hours more sleep than I usually get if I've been drinking. And I've caught up on what you lot did yesterday, so it's far better than sleep right?...

    Have a good Thursday everyone.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    "NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"
  • Well, I did a week.

That's the pinnacle of my achievement, however.

    Am drinking today, unfortunately.

I was (as usual) very clumsy and I managed to smash half a bottle of vodka onto the kitchen floor, whilst "topping up" and thus alerted my OH to my misfortune (in every sense of the word).

So I was totally found out and I am now feeling ashamed and as low as a badger's !!!!.

The enormity of my sighs and bad feelings can't be translated into type...........

    Hugs to all,

    Caz
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Try something different Caz - your plan about driving your OH everywhere, letting your OH keep all your money, etc obviously hasn't worked, so best to try a different plan of attack.

Life got easier for me when I got help from other people for my alcoholism. They had been through it and could give me support and advice.
I keep going to meetings to stay sober.
There is a strong correlation between people who stop going to meetings and then drink again.

I had to admit I was alcoholic (and I wasn't even drinking everyday or hiding it), accept I was an alcoholic, and surrender to it.
I was beaten by alcohol, so there is no point me fighting it any more. By surrendering to it I have been able to live a happy life without it for the past couple of years.

Good luck in what you do - I know people only really want to give up enough when they are ready, and I hope that happens to you sooner rather than later

Hugeroonis HB ((())) I have no advice re the damp but hope it gets sorted :) x

I am having a carp time, had baliffs knocking yesterday apparently, didn't find out till I got a baliff visit order from the local court through the post this morning.

It's a debt that I don't remember owning (though I know I did), I thought all my baliff visit/calls/letter days were finished now :(

    Hope everything turns out ok.
All I know is that a drink won't help this situation at all (and the fact it costs money makes it even worse)

Have realised I will have to tell my landlord as this currently means I can't get any decent heat into the bedroom & will need to sleep with hot water bottle so I don't freeze :(

I know it's not as bad as bailiffs or the myriad of other problems people have on here on in life in general. I just feel it's been a really pants year so far. I truly thought I was turning a corner with stuff, most especially with my AF resolutions, & I know just feel slapped in the face & kicked in the teeth & firmly squashed down.

I don't want to be in my bedroom cos it's there & ugly etc etc. I don't really want to be in the lounge/kitchen as it's freezing & I'm only just getting over checking compulsively for mice (seem to have gone, btw). This only leaves the bathroom & I can't live in the bath!

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry.

Thank god for you lot is all I can say :A

Life continues to happen if we are AF or not. What I try and do is not let life make me pick up a drink and escape. My alcoholism makes me want to pick up a drink. I can choose to blame things, but in reality, it is me that picks up a drink.
I have no control of people, places and things. Thus they can never be responsible for me drinking

Jo, do you fancy running away with me to somewhere hot & exotic? ;)

Not practical, I know, but I'm f***ed if I can be a***d to be sensible, practical or anything right now!

Please don't have a "F**k it" moment and drink.

    Hungry
    Angry
    Lonely
    Tired

Anger is a common trigger to picking up
  • Mornign chaps - dashing into bath then work - must get the order right!

Hugs to all - well done those who FAFFed and any CAFF'rs then well done too :)

    Updates later :)

Not many days of the month to go - so many of you going great guns this month!
