Morning Faffers
for me yesterday. Back on the wagon today and back on the diet.
ShaggyWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
good morning everyone, stayed out till 12.30 last night in my taxi ferring loved up couples around this is another example of how not drinking is benefiting me, normally on a Sunday i get a bottle of vodka and prob work my way thru a third of it waking up feeling groggy and putting down to lack of sleep, last night i carried on working and made an extra £100 (some American called a taxi from the middle of no were and asked me to take them to were they could get pudding... cost them £40!! .. for the taxi there and back not the pudding and when i asked what they had they had ICE CREAM!! omg they could have gone to the spar!! ) Feb is a really expensive month this year, I've had to pay the accountant £360 and I have car tax plus half a tax bill of £400 to find as well as normal payments plus car is due a service in next week or so so i really need to work hard but I couldn't do it if I was still drinking .. 13 faffing days so far!!get rid of all the pounds by summer !!

Morning all
Well done to all the FAFFers.
HB - hope your day goes well and you are back in one piece by the end of it.
Castri09 - good luck on the giving up wine. You sound resolved and that is great. I'm sure you'll get some words of wisdom from folks on here!
Not from me though as I still haven't had a FAFF yet. Looks like it will be quite a while before my alcohol counselling begins. I'm thinking of going to an AA meeting. Any advice on what to expect if I do go? I feel very nervous about it.
Have a great Monday everyone. I have the day off! Yippee.

Hi everybody :j
12 AFs for me please, Fay
I've got a week off with my DDs :j:j:j DD1 in Russia with school  but have had texts from her and she's visited the Kremlin - wow :j
I'd love to give up wine for lent, but I don't think I could manage my Sat night without. However, I might try just next Saturday and see how I go on.
We're going to London for a couple of days, but otherwise, I'm staying at home and tidying and doing various cleaning jobs.
So have a good week everybody

I really wished I could help and so sympathise with you. What helps me is doing breathing exercises. Learning the basics of meditation will really help you. Don't know about you but whn I have panic attacks like this through alcohol craving it feels like I'm stuck in the middle of a whirlwind and can't get out and it's so loud, I'm crouched down in the middle of it with my hands over my ears! Strange mental pictures! (It gets stranger *rolleyes*).....I imagine a big hand (god? my dear old dad's hand? who knows), picking me up from the middle of the whirlwind and putting me down next to it, you can see the whirlwind from the outside and there's nothing to be frightened of. Nothing bad will happen to you if you ignore the bells. Good luck castri

Morning Shaggy  where you get that AF sign from?
Half term here, Jeremy Kyles about to start, plus I got my £42 quid or whatever it is in tax credits in the bank today so I can buy electric, food and petrol. What have I got to moan about *confused* nothing, but I am anyway *confused*
Hope everyone's okay?

DB & PIR, we crossed posted
DB, don't be scared of going to AA, it's a roomful of like-minded people that will be welcoming and make you feel comfortable. They will be from all walks of life not homeless tramps, you will find business people, young and old, male and female. There will be a piece said by the person running the show, it's the AA mantra that's read at every meeting, then people will start talking, in no particular order and you don't have to talk if you don't want to. People will tell their stories. Everything said in the room, stays in the room. Don't be afraid, go along and see how you feel, introduce yourself to someone, anyone, that you are new and they will make sure you leave with a load of leaflets and information and you will probably get a few phone numbers. Good luck xxx (let us know how it goes)
PIR, the Kremlin, wow!!! Hope you have a wonderful week, where are you visiting in London?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

My posting habits should be well known by now - I post when I am AF (or to be more precise, I don't post when I have nothing to be pleased about)
Hoping to be better this week. Someone remind me how 'up' I was last month 'no apparent reason' *rolleyes*.......Neigh, neigh, and thrice neigh
