I haggled with orange for a good for days before getting sorted out with my 9700. I can assure you that you can get a 9700 on Panther 40 for £25 (1200mins, unlimited txts, unlimited data, free 9700. bb services included, orange magic number, free orange maps + satnav).
I currenntly have, Panther 40 for £30, for phone free and all the above on 24months. I signed up as a new customer at the start of Jan while the 9700 was still pretty new, wasn't out on O2 yet. Love orange, and the price im paying is very cheap for what I get.0 -

Hi, I'm not very good at 'haggling' and not sure I could persist with constant phone calls to Orange but I would really like a 9700 and perferbly only pay £25 p/m getting free internet, bb e-mails and I don't need any more than 350 texts and minutes for this - am I expecting too much?
My 3 daughters are all on orange but I am just about to start my £20 p/m simplicity tariff after I finish my 18 month contract for £35 p/m Iphone contract on O2 on 12th February but O2's tariff for the 9700 is way too much!!
I've looked at the £25 p/m deal on buymobilephones.net http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/BlackBerry/BlackBerry-Bold-9700/Orange/Orange-Panther-25-(24mths)-inc.-Unlimited-BlackBerry/2125009 but there seems to be alot of bad reviews about this company and don't know whether I want to chance it.... Anybody know of any good ones (I'm hoping February will bring some good deals) or shall I just try Orange myself and hope for the best!!!0 -

Just ask orange if they can price match that buymobilephones offer you got up there. Then if they say they cant, just say you want to pac so you can move out of orange to another network and then pac back into that buymobilephone deal.
Hopefully that will make them match the offer, so you dont need to pac out and back in. If they say "ok heres your pac" just dont use it and try again.
Usually better if you can find a rival company eg vodafone, so they wont want to lose you. Since you are going to go back to orange anyway...0 -

Thanks very much for your reply. Not sure I made myself clear in my message but I am actually with O2 at the moment and have been for about 4 years and finish my IPhone contract on the 12th February and have already signed up about 2 weeks ago for the £20 p/m simplicity contract with O2 but this is on a monthly basis and I can cancel at any time. My 3 daughters are with orange. Youngest is on PAYG, and eldest has 2 contracts which she has given one to my middle daughter (15 years old) and she is paying her £10 p/m so I'm afraid I can't ask for my pac code from orange. Could try O2 but I very much doubt they will come close to the buymobilephones.net deal!! Wasn't sure if Orange could give me a good deal as a new customer?!!!
Thanks anyway....0 -

Also, mention that your daughters are also on Orange, they'll view everyones expenditure and are much more likely to be willing to do you a customised deal if they know there's others in your household spending!
Best of luck and keep us posted0 -

Sorry Jem i missed read what network you was on.
I know some people can negotiate a good contract even for new customers. For example some new customers managed to haggle a good contract with T mobile a few months ago.
Remember, if you dont ask you wont get... the worse you could get is a no, hang up and phone up again and speak to a different person.
So the worse scenario is: you phone up orange (with the o2 PAC in hand so you can give it to orange, remember you dont have to use it and it'll be like it never got issued) Just say to them, i saw this deal on buymobilephones.net and its on orange contract and would like to get it from you directly. (save the hassle of going through a 3rd party website.)
Then see what they say.
Note: Let them know its a £10 discount, its automatic discount; therefore not a cashback deal. They might try to fob you off by saying "we dont match cashback deals" then again... if they are trying to fob you off... hang up and try again .
Let me know how you get on :T0 -

How did you manage to get that deal? either for £25 (preferable obviously) or £30? I can't seem to get anywhere close to that0
