Good deal for this phone on https://www.fatfingers.co.ukfreakyhello wrote: »Hi, I found this deal http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/BlackBerry/BlackBerry-Bold-9700/Orange/Orange-Panther-25-%2824mths%29-inc.-Unlimited-BlackBerry/2125009?&adnetwork=af for the blackberry 9700 but i dont know whether buymobilephones.net are reputable and will post monthly bills?
Also, orange do loads of decent deals on their website but with 'unlimited push internet' and none seem to say unlimited BIS so does this include unlimited push mean unlimited net? thanks//0 -
I think the trouble with iphones these days is that EVERYONE seems to have one. Also they are not so good for people who like tweak things as apple seem to like to keep them pretty well locked down. If I was about to get a new phone I'd probably look at the N900 as that seems to beat both iphone and blackberry in many ways even though it is bigger.0

Oh, he's 19 and likes stylish trendy things - which the iPhone is and the BB isn't:rotfl:. I think he prefers a touchscreen rather than the keyboard too, but I know lots of people think otherwise...depends what you're used to. The BB Bold 9700 looks and feels nicer than the other Blackberries I think, but he's not been won over by it0 -
phone decisions come down to touchscreen keyboard vs physical keyboard sometimes. I work in IT and I have every gadget under the sky and I still won't buy an iphone after being loaned one for 30 days. Virtual keyboards don't work for me, my text/email typing speed goes right now. With physical keyboards it is possible after a couple of weeks of owning any model to get a good typing speed, I've never achieved it with touchscreens. Don't get me wrong, at the moment I have a Andriod G1 (modded to run G2 Hero O/S) which is touchscreen, but I slide out a keyboard to type.
I'm getting a 9700 this week, been using my OH's 9700 for a couple of weeks before making the plunge myself!!!
If you can handle touchscreen keyboards you are lucky... as you will have more market choice this year. However there are still great physical keyboard model phones coming out, blackberry 9700, motorola driod and N900.
Also, if anyone is wondering why I'm moving from andriod to blackberry.. it was a tough choice. I like the fun of the andriod but 95% of my phone usuage is just email, email, email, calls and text, therefore the speed of the blackberry interface and good keyboard won it for me.0 -
Good deal for this phone on www.fatfingers.co.uk
I can't find any on there! I'm with 02 now on simplicity i rang them up and all they would offer was £35 ppm. but after i checked on their site and they do it for £25 a month (24 month contract!) with 150 pound phone price!! wth.
but i;ve been with them for over a year and two contracts. And orange do it for £25 a month with MORE minutes and only 18 month contract and £100 pounds for the phone. as I think after 18 month you need a new phone as they will probably be gone after that period. So I think i might cancel 02 unless they offer me a good offer tomorrow?0 -

I'll be really interested to know what and if you get a better deal with O2 than you was originally offered cause I also have the simplicity tariff with my Iphone and as I've mentioned I don't really want to go over £25 p/m with at least 300 minutes, 300 texts and e-mails and internet too. If I can get all this on a 18 month contract with paying nothing or little for the phone then I will be laughing.... Please let me know if you get a good deal from either O2 or Orange...

I'm having a similar problem. I am on PAYG with O2 at the moment and I really like the look of, and what I've read about, the BB Bold 9700 so I'm considering taking the plunge on a contract.
Ideally I'd like to stay with O2 but the array of different contracts / networks and prices out there is a bit baffling. I can't seem to find anything better than £30 for 24months and £35 for 18months which I could handle, providing there were no hidden costs.
One tip though, don't buy from O2 store, I went in there the other day and because they were 'price matching' they could only offer the above prices if I took out insurance and bought an accessory at the same time! You also get double text allowance on the website at the moment too.
If there are any stunning deals out there that could sway me from O2 I'd love to hear about it. I don't really want to go with Orange as I don't like that they input their own software. How about T-Mobile or Vodafone?
Sorry for the waffle. Thanks in advance0 -

yes but orange do deals that work out similar but that seems to be the best available for new customers.
i got offered an 18 month contract by orange as a new customer for 25 pounds a month with 600 mins and unlimited text and internet, but for the first 4 months i would have to pay 6 pounds insurance working out at 31 pounds for 4 months and then 25 pounds for the rest and have to pay 50 pounds for the phone. This totals 514 pounds. Would I be able to better this? Thanks. I don;t want to be tied down for 24 months.0
