right my mum had this exact problem in her garden and i got the solution that worked for her from my mums friend. basically get clear 2ltr coke bottles rip off all the labels so is completely clear or such like fill them with water lay them across garden about 3-4 worked for a medium sized garden. basically the cats didnt like them i believe was refelection from bottles i think. the only thing to remember is to move them eg move them once a week as grass under bottle will die.
but above method worked for mates mum and also worked at ours as well we had a few cats visiting they didnt after that i was quite amazed hope it works for you.
by the way the person who said about the cats heads on stakes you got any piccys :rotfl:0 -

you can buy some stuff from wilkinsons which you sprinkle on your garden, they don't like the smell. it costs about £1.500

After reading mixed reviews I bought a big cheese cat repeller from amazon it seemed to do the job until the batteries kept running out, so I ran 100 ft of wire down to my veggie plot and connected it to a 9V adapter - so far it been great, no more poo's! I have positioned it facing where they enter my garden.
I was getting very desperate and had to do something and so far so good.0 -
