My Dad used one of those powders that's supposed to deter them. They loved it and came round even more!

Put down that Weed sheeting down around all you plants and a load of crushed sea shells/gravel/slate. They like to dig holes this will stop them it will also reduce the amount water your garden needs and if you use sea shells slugs and sails hate it also.

If your back yard and fenced. Fill in any hole and put this around the top http://www.cactus-products.com/cactus-plastic-fence-spikes-10-strips-per-box-884-0.html. It won't hurt them but will stop them

There was a thread on MSE a few months ago about the same thing (The neighboors cat was getting on their car bonnet and scratching the paint work, it was one of my favourite MSE exchanges of all time.

A poster said "Simple you need these and posted a picture of a brick and a sack"

The OP replied "But if I through bricks at the cat they will damage my car"

    Brilliant

Awh dacouch twas moi! Wish I was remembered for some pearls of wisdom rather than having a light haired person moment ;) Btw, no problems with cats anymore - moved house!

Yes, more of a problem here with stinky dogs, as neighbours do clear up after them & disinfect area but if it's a warm day, the smell certainly wafts over the hedge (which their constant peeing is slowly damaging!) However, back to cats.....my best remedy is to save some used tea bags & put a few good shakes of Olbas oil on each one, then put them where the problem is. Cats HATE Olbas oil. Remove all the existing poo first so the Olbas smell is even stronger and every so often just chuck on some new teabags. Seems to work.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!
