I also firmly believe that in the case of Rover its the old classic of the british public these days (Oh, it was made here!!?? It MUST be shonky!)

    .

Simply not true, I once owned a Nissan Bluebird, made in Sunderland UK, best car that I have ever owned, it never missed a beat, ever.:)

Try removing the front and rear Rover badges. Your car may then forget that its a peice of !!!! and start driving normally

Yea right, all of the members posting on here and elsewhere must just dream that their Rover head gasket has failed.:)

Thats the purpose of a forum though isn't it? when you have a problem you seek advice. How many people post about something that is running right, I see it all the time.
"Help my car is running perfectly not a single problem in sight, what should I do?"
Its no different to any other problem, take a look around this forum and see how many people complain about play.com, then ask play how many orders they ship on an annual basis and i would bet the total number of complaints equals less than a couple of %, why.......because people don't feel the need to post on a forum when they got what they expected!!!!

Its no different to the Rover, yes they have become reknowned for HGF but half the time its caused it by poor maintence/lack of coolant, but for very person that says they have HGF there a lot more that don't post on a forum to say they have never had it.

As for your NIssan Bluebird, whilst it may have been built in Britain it was never a british car!!
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
