martin on the site i moderate(not a small site!) the owner looked into the same issue
it was deemed as long as the post wasnt edited by forum staff then it was the views of the poster
so as long as it was left or deleted it was fine,only when edited did it become 'legitimised' by the staff
Thanks for that, though our advise is very different, and as legal letters due to the forums are a far more than weekly occurence - we need stick with our advice.
As one of the UK's 10 biggest forums and dealing with big companies of every schtick this is something we've been hot on for years and have specilist lawyers into it. For many reasons including insurance - I cannot go against the advice given.
