Skinny 3yr old dd - best place for jeans & trousers?

I know BHS do school uniform in different fittings such as long leg, small waist etc. It might be worth seeing if they do it with ordinary clothes.Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0

My DD is 3, average height and weight apparently but she has no stomach at all! She still fits into size 18month trousers :rotfl:
My problem is age 2-3 USUALLY fit her in the waist (if they are adjustable) but they are a bit half mast 7, 3-4 is too long in the leg and fall down! So, she usually wears dresses as 3-4 are fine with that! Nice thick tights and cosy boots
But, I got her some nice jeans from H&M, and whilst they are baggy, there is tiers at the waist so I can tighten them a lot, I hate the adjustable waist bit inside the tesco ones, it bunches up and make it look like she has poohed herself!
Also, Gap is really good for perfect fitting jeans, but because they are PERFECT, they outgrow them V quick!0 -
You want French stuff, their kids are long and slim! Try Vertbaudet, they do a catalogue.0

The problem is not that our children are slim, but that most shops seem to make clothes on the assumption that we all have Billy and Bessie Bunters at home. It makes me so cross. Both my children are "slim" especially DD, but are most definitely normal and not particularly out of the ordinary.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
Thank you for all your replies, lots of advice and places to try!
At the moment most of her clothes are M&S and Next for bottoms. I try to get her in dress/pinafores, but she loves to wear trousers. I got a great pair of jean in m&s, but she's fast growing out of them length-wise.
Shoes are another problem! I posted a couple of weeks ago about my local Clarks trying to sell me badly fitting shoes, but i went to Basingstoke on Sunday and they were brilliant. She doesn't need new shoes yet :T:T! She measure a C width fitting, and with very slim ankles, it's always fun .0 -

Steer well clear of Clarks-they don't make shoes to fit narrow feet. We HAD to get Start-Rite for my dd because of her narrow (and shallow) feet-or some of the continental makes like Elefanten can be good too0 -
I normally go to Russell & Bromley, and generally end up with Start Rite, but the last 2 or 3 pairs have been Clarks! I was surprised to say the least........but they've always been very good in there and I've been very happy with the fitting. Unlike the badly fitting gappy shoes my local Clarks tried to flog me:eek:.0

claireac - if you are near North Camp or Alton try 'Shuzu', they have always been great for my skinny heeled daughter0

I buy a lot of my daughters clothes in Gap ( in the sale:money:) They are usually a good fit as she is also very skinny. I quite often dress her in tights and smart shorts/cullottes(sp??) as these are much easier to get to fit. You can go down an age to get a decent fit on the waist without worrying that they will be too short on the leg. Unfortunately dresses are not much good due to her spinal brace it is very rare i can get a dress to fit her.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I have skinny ankles/heels but had wider feet as a kid - mum used to curse me coz Start-Rite were the only ones that would fit properly, but were always that bit more expensive than Clarks!
Pity its a DD - I was going to suggest finding a "snake" belt for a DS! My 2 kids had them, elasticated, adjustable to grow with them, and easy to fasten!0
