Its the gloss that is annoying me the most tho as only the top on a blob of gloss dries and the underneath is still wet!
Im going to have a go at shaving the paint... what fun Im going to have on Friday!
Thanks for all your replies.0 -
I posted in an earlier thread about getting dried paint out of carpets.
People suggested cutting it out etc.. now I have discovered a product called "paint away" its £8.99 in Kleeneze.
Just thought I would let everyone know. It saves the cost of replacing a carpet :j0 -
Some face paints have melted into my carpets and im completely lost as to how to remove them
Please help!

is it a wax based paint? if so scrape up as much as you can with a butter knife or spatula. then cover the stain with kitchen paper and cover the surrounding area too. then, and carefully run a hot iron over the paper. lift the paper every 30 seconds or so and replace with clean paper. keep going until the paper looks clean. if you are left with a colour stain then its probably just colouring and should respond to soapy water. unless your carpet is 100% nylon it should be ok.
if its a water based face paint then i would suggest scraping up as much as poss then using soapy water and a nail brush and then rinsing with a sponge. or a proprieterary cleaner.
Ive used both methods and they DO work - but do take great care if your carpets are all synthetic.0 -
Hi Lilly - we have a general thread about removing paint from carpet, so you may find some ideas in there. We don't have a specific face paint thread, but i will merge this with the first link laterA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

The face paint isn't fully out of the carpet but this is what worked best so far:
wet the stain with cold water and cover with biological washing powder (I used aireal)
Leave for one hour
scrub the stain with a damp cloth, again cold water
Leave to air dry

Since you obviously don't have it, can you maybe just tried a bit of washing up liquid and water and see if that helps, it should as its water-based paint.
(dried emulsion paint. some on dust sheet, pulled dust sheet away....while still wet.... lovely lines on carpet0 -
