blimey! kids eh :rolleyes:
If it is the pile that is affected, I was going to suggest clipping the pile in the area that is affected but as it's quite a large area you will probably be better trying to clean it with a home made cleaner;
I would use bicarb, washing detergent (a biological one), stardrops and if you have a carpet detergent stick that in as well. Try to soak the area with the cleaner and give it a good rub.
Hopefully this will work!We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

If you are planning to claim on the insurance, I might be tempted to speak to the claims dept/underwriter first - ask them if they would still pay out for a claim if you try to clean it but it does not work. If they say yes, take a photo of the damage before you clean it, so you have proof it was a mess before you started with the cleaning process!! If they say no, I'm not sure I would try to clean it because if you can't get it out you are stuck with the stain.
I used to work for an insurance company so I'm always a bit suspicious that they will not pay out if they can wiggle out of things!We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Hi, I have got some paint on my carpet and wondered if anyone knows how to get it off? (It is dried on)
Thanks, Rachel x:beer::smileyheaRachel xx0 -
What type of paint ? If it is emulsion it will probably come off with some warm soapy water.0

no, it's gloss. just my luck.:smileyheaRachel xx0

Try using a clean cloth with white spirit. May need to clean with carpet shampoo afterwards although washing up liquid or washing powder might do the job. Probably best to test first on a hidden area of carpet or, better still use an off cut if you have a bit lying around.0

Hi rebl43,
We had a thread on this a couple of days ago that might help you, so I'll merge your thread with it as it helps to keep all the suggestions together.
